I wish I had all that internet and YT and stuff earlier in the 90ies... when I tried to learn but when Flamenco-teacher were as seldom as Starshippilots... when I sat at home with wrong techniques, no pieces to leran and no idea about anything. Nowadays fill the searchline and you can get an instructor talking to you from a PC-screen!!! New ideas and stuff all the time!!! Ole```

Don't worry about it Stephen, we all have our own way of playing don't compare yourself to others, I don't recommend that, just play the way you play and practice often to get better. Only compare to your old self, that would be the way to go! Cheers!

Very interesting and useful approach to improve own musical skills 👍🏻Dear Luciano possible to make tutorials for different flamenco techniques like Alzapua, Tremoles, Rasquedo, Picado and others with practical exercises? There are a lot of videos by KZbin about techniques but nobody tells the practical secrets, correct hand/finger position for each technique and what are the important things, when we practice it. I have learned techniques from different flamenco teachers and from book as well. After 18 years playing guitar and many many practice hours I can notice that no teacher has checked and correct the individual issues like thumb anatomy (curved like Vicente’s), soft nails and wrong finger/hand and body position 🤷♂️

Great playing, Luciano! You really get a great tone out of the guitar ( or your fingers ;- ). I like how you use an existing composition as a basis for your own explorations. I think this also leads to a better understanding of the original composition itself. Could you explain the modulation from the original key to the other key you that you were doing ? This was really nice and sounded great.

the knowledge of harmony is a main thing for a musician, but when I analyzed some pieces I noticed that the flamenco guitarists use a lot their intuition and feeling in the composition more than the knowledge of harmony. Is that right ? Thank you LUCIANO for this lesson.

@grobertabidbol40054 жыл бұрын
Too good, Luciano. It seems to me that you play closer to the guitar rosette than the average flamenco player, do you use very hight tension string to compensate the softness of the string in this area ? Ps: really love your sound, you are one of the greatest in my book (just after Vicente)👹
@kthen4 жыл бұрын
Underrated question. I would like to know too
@LucianoGhosn4 жыл бұрын
Thank you Grobert! It's a good question yes. I actually use low tension strings mostly, and still I try to play a little bit closer to the rosette as you noticed yes because I prefer the warmer tone that the guitar can produce from there. Also another reason I do that is that, I can get higher volume with less force when I play from there, however for fast and strong picados, that wouldn't work, I would have to go closer to the bridge. Cheers!
@LucianoGhosn4 жыл бұрын
You have the answer, Cheers!
@grobertabidbol40054 жыл бұрын
Thanks for answering, it’s really a privilage of the Guitar to be able to change the tone of the guitar by playing closer of the rosette. Julian Lage does it very well too, but on a stratocaster. I am also interested in the topic of the place of the right harm: from Sabicas who never moves it to Vicente who seems to let the guitar move very freely... It would be interesting to have your aproch. Que vayas bien
