Once you come to the realization that death doesn’t matter in HLL, the game changes entirely and becomes so much more fun. I still get bugged when I spawn and immediately die more than twice in a row but it’s more so having to wait than the death itself.

Literally my first game on HLL and I spawned in as a machine gunner with the mg42 and we were being overrun. I went on top of the this bunker/thing and I was with a spotter and together we held out this giant offensive push. They threw smokes and were pushing up out of the smoke in this field and he pointed where they were while I just shredded them. One of the most incredible moments I had in gaming, felt like a movie.

I generally am not a fan of shooters, or really online play in general, but this game has me hooked big time. It's a little hit and miss and yes you do get in matches where players don't mic up, or work as a team, or play run and gun style like it's COD, but man when you get on a good team with squads who work together and everyone's talking and the commander is putting up OPs and the team is working together and everything is firing on all cylinders, this shit is borderline magical. I'm purely a console guy so I never knew that this game and a. OUple others somilar to it even existed until it came to PS5. Now we just need some more content here soon

Judging by the 8 minutes I've watched, this is a very different game on console as nobody seems to use coms. A massive part of this game's appeal is playing with other players. Introduce commander coms, squad lead coms, intersquad coms, and local coms, and things change drastically. One rifleman sees a tank, reports to squad lead, who relays that info to the tank squad. Tank squad flanks or shoots the enemy tank through the hedges. If you have this game, you need to get a mic and use it.

Not saying that you are wrong...but what you just said is your personal subjective opinion and other people might not like this type of games. I play both arcade fast paced shooters and more tactical ones depending on my mood. However, I always found that a big turn off in milsims and tactical shooters is the elitism of a good portion of their playerbases, in which people think they are somehow better for playing more realistic games or that everyone else also should enjoy those games more than jump and slide arcade shooters.

During this one game I was playing in Hell Let Loose, I was part of a convoy of trucks heading for the objective and I was in the 2nd truck. Our truck decided to stop near the objective and the 1st truck kept on going, all of a sudden the 1st truck and everyone in it blew up in front of us and we hit the deck panicking and screaming trying to figure out where we were being attacked.

When you kill a man in this game, your not just getting a kill where they will simply come back and kill you, your not delaying an enemy for 30 seconds, you forcing an enemy to play death stranding in ww2 for who knows how long

If you are shooting at a medium or heavy tank you've got to hit it on the rear, otherwise you're just wasting ammo. You might kill an armoured car if you hit it on the side, though.

To add to that, the incredibly lacking (like all other HLL's mechanics) armor system merely models five "levels" of armor instead of doing any calculations on caliber, armor thickness, velocity, range, penetration, etc

Don't know about the mechanics in this game but a HEAT round will probably pen most tanks of the era, if not equipped with standoff armour.

I really like this game! I love that there is no hit markers or even kill confirmed via on screen notification. So you could Hail Mary a dam grenade and even if it kills a whole gang of dudes you don’t know until the end! Really digging the direction they went with this game. Hopefully we get more games like this!

There is a hitmarker, but you have to get used to it and it's pretty realistic. A bodyshot is like your bullet hitting mud, it gets amplified and you can hear it in one ear at least independent of distance. A headshot is always your bullet hitting metal, and it also gets amplified so you can hear if you hit the pixel shot on a guy 300+ meters away.

And most kills required 6-8 on target shots just make it out of action, that would include only taking out the tracks and the crew bailing out, without the tank burning up. And these ratios also include German PZ 5/6 and anti tank guns and the famous 88mm

The max. penetration on armor with the 2,36inch hollow charge is 70mm. The armor of the Tiger: Front - 100mm upper side - 80mm lower side - 60mm (but there are the tracks and running gear in the way) rear - 80mm turret front - 100mm gun mantlet - 110mm turret side and rear - 80mm So you see, the Bazooke is pointless against a Tiger.

The game gives you the option to deploy any tank you want, so every German tank crew wants the Tiger, even when it’s not the best choice. Even in real life, a Tiger would rarely be seen in urban combat, because it’s a heavy tank, and heavy tanks are not the best choice to deploy in close combat. Edit: I have destroyed Tigers with the Bazooka, but rear shots only. Anything else is a waste of ammo.

This reminds me of an old game I used to play religiously, "Enemy Territory." I was in a clan and competed. Air Strikes, medics, taking other sides weapons, etc. What I HATE about Battlefield is there really aren't any front lines. You can push the enemy back and back and then they'll spawn behind you. It's very stupid. Without some kind of front there is no continuity of tactics or strategy so the whole teamwork concept is pointless. Key terrain points become pointless. This game looks fucking awesome though. I can already tell how my real-world experience kicks in watching this trailer. Lesson number uno kids: any doorway or archway is called "The Fatal Funnel." Do not meander through them, you move with haste through them.

It is great and all about teamwork. He did not demonstrate that all squads are tied to a central commander via radio. Each squad leader is in touch with the commander, and then commands his squad according. Also, there proximity voice chat. Tank crew takes 3 players. Artillery 2. I still like playing KD especially with automatic gunners, tho kills are not so important but having 3kd with only a few deaths and playing to survive feels good ;) In my defense ill also play medic or any needed class.

@@nedodo2380 There is at least 3 full servers on the us, and a couple more on europe. It's not as big as hll but this can be considered an advantage since you basicallt know everyone and who is a good sl and who is not

What I love about this game is the community being in a tank or a squad where we all talk and joke around is so good this games community is amazing and it's probably cause as a squad leader it the command you are forced to communicate especially if you are a tanker

This game has been my saving grace during a period of mediocre FPS games on console. The fact that a game this good can even run on a PS5/XBOX is just a testament to how far gaming has truly progressed in the past generation. Cant wait to see more people pick this game up as the hardware becomes more readily available.

Such a good game. Easily one of the best WWII games I have ever played. COD and 2042 don't even compete with this game. Also, when sniping, gotta make up for bullet drop.

Operation flashpoint dragon rising and operation flashpoint red river is even more on point especially with the use and need for field dressings. Trajectory has to be taken into account as well on those games. Red river feels more real to me especially how the Tajikistan Islamic insurgency(real group but forgot the exact name) fights you. They hit you with IEDs and then ambush your convoys from both sides it's insane and they run up on you as well similarly to the Taliban. The PLA fights totally different than them too and use their own tactics.

kursk, simultaneously the best and worst map. if you don't have competent tanker crews and if you're the germans and don't have anti tank guns positioned at windmills you're going to lose the game.
