Literally my first game on HLL and I spawned in as a machine gunner with the mg42 and we were being overrun. I went on top of the this bunker/thing and I was with a spotter and together we held out this giant offensive push. They threw smokes and were pushing up out of the smoke in this field and he pointed where they were while I just shredded them. One of the most incredible moments I had in gaming, felt like a movie.

Judging by the 8 minutes I've watched, this is a very different game on console as nobody seems to use coms. A massive part of this game's appeal is playing with other players. Introduce commander coms, squad lead coms, intersquad coms, and local coms, and things change drastically. One rifleman sees a tank, reports to squad lead, who relays that info to the tank squad. Tank squad flanks or shoots the enemy tank through the hedges. If you have this game, you need to get a mic and use it.

I play both arcade fast paced shooters and more tactical ones depending on my mood. However, I always found that a big turn off in milsims and tactical shooters is the elitism of a good portion of their playerbases, in which people think they are somehow better for playing more realistic games or that everyone else also should enjoy those games more than jump and slide arcade shooters.

I generally am not a fan of shooters, or really online play in general, but this game has me hooked big time. It's a little hit and miss and yes you do get in matches where players don't mic up, or work as a team, or play run and gun style like it's COD, but man when you get on a good team with squads who work together and everyone's talking and the commander is putting up OPs and the team is working together and everything is firing on all cylinders, this shit is borderline magical. I'm purely a console guy so I never knew that this game and a. OUple others somilar to it even existed until it came to PS5. Now we just need some more content here soon

If you are shooting at a medium or heavy tank you've got to hit it on the rear, otherwise you're just wasting ammo. You might kill an armoured car if you hit it on the side, though.

Don't know about the mechanics in this game but a HEAT round will probably pen most tanks of the era, if not equipped with standoff armour.

I really like this game! I love that there is no hit markers or even kill confirmed via on screen notification. So you could Hail Mary a dam grenade and even if it kills a whole gang of dudes you don’t know until the end! Really digging the direction they went with this game. There is a hitmarker, but you have to get used to it and it's pretty realistic. A bodyshot is like your bullet hitting mud, it gets amplified and you can hear it in one ear at least independent of distance. A headshot is always your bullet hitting metal, and it also gets amplified so you can hear if you hit the pixel shot on a guy 300+ meters away.

The game gives you the option to deploy any tank you want, so every German tank crew wants the Tiger, even when it’s not the best choice. Even in real life, a Tiger would rarely be seen in urban combat, because it’s a heavy tank, and heavy tanks are not the best choice to deploy in close combat. Edit: I have destroyed Tigers with the Bazooka, but rear shots only. Anything else is a waste of ammo.

This reminds me of an old game I used to play religiously, "Enemy Territory." I was in a clan and competed. Air Strikes, medics, taking other sides weapons, etc. What I HATE about Battlefield is there really aren't any front lines. You can push the enemy back and back and then they'll spawn behind you. It's very stupid. Without some kind of front there is no continuity of tactics or strategy so the whole teamwork concept is pointless. Key terrain points become pointless. This game looks fucking awesome though. I can already tell how my real-world experience kicks in watching this trailer. Lesson number uno kids: any doorway or archway is called "The Fatal Funnel." Do not meander through them, you move with haste through them.

It is great and all about teamwork. He did not demonstrate that all squads are tied to a central commander via radio. Each squad leader is in touch with the commander, and then commands his squad according. Also, there proximity voice chat. Tank crew takes 3 players. Artillery 2. Operation flashpoint dragon rising and operation flashpoint red river is even more on point especially with the use and need for field dressings. Trajectory has to be taken into account as well on those games. Red river feels more real to me especially how the Tajikistan Islamic insurgency(real group but forgot the exact name) fights you. I like how everyone was correcting him about him saying the incorrect tank name and the yet most of the people correcting him got the tank name wrong themselves. It is actually an M5A1 Stuart not an M3 Stuart. The big difference is that the M5A1 Stuart has a raised/larger engine compartment

The M4 Sherman has three sets of bogies per track for suspension. The M5 Stuart has only two bogies per track... This M4 Sherman at 2:14 is a variant. The Browing M2 50 cal is missing from the turret which may indicate this is the M4 Firefly, but because the Firefly was modified for the larger gun and weight, the bogies would be spaced a little wider apart. The Firefly gun was the 17-pounder 76.2mm, which had a muzzle brake and packed a punch on par with nearly all the German tanks at the time. Additionally, there is also a variant of the M4 called the Sherman Easy 8 (M4A3E8); which had a 76 mm main gun and a muzzle brake. Also, there is a white star painted on the side of the turret. The British alterations to the turret needed for the larger gun would have eliminated this identification and added significant weight; hence the bogie spacing and the newer suspension system. So my best guess is the tank at 2:14 is an M4A3E8 also called the "Easy-Eight". But then again, this is a video game and its accuracy is only as good as the programmer's knowledge of WW2 armored vehicles.

2:15 That is actually a sherman, though. The M5A1 Stuart is the little light tank. To be more specific, that is the M4A3E2 Jumbo version of the Sherman. It has thicker armor and a bigger gun than the M4A1 variant. The M4A1 has 2 inches of armor in the front, 1.5 inches of armor on the sides and a low velocity 75mm gun, barely capable of penetrating the front plate of a Tiger from 100 meters away. The M4A3, however, has a 76.2mm gun, 101mm of armor in the front and 76mm of armor on the sides.
