There are many women who have issues with vulnerability as well. I remember attending many marriage talks where the conversations were couched as a “mans problem” and women being naturally expressive, open and vulnerable and that’s not everyone’s story. It can feel incredibly isolating to receive that message as a woman. PEOPLE struggle with vulnerability depending on their life experience. It’s not male or female.

I don't think women are naturally more vulnerable. We're generally raised to communicate that way. We're allowed to be soft and we learn how to identify our feelings and discuss them. Boys and men generally aren't raised this way.

Yes!!!! It’s not a male or female thing. There are women who struggle with vulnerability because they weren’t raised that way (I.e. black women raised by single mothers) and men who can open up because they were given the space to do so growing up.

This is really good. I feel like we each go through the same things ALL OF THE TIME, and it looks different because the people are different, but these are the same challenges I've seen in my marriage. I’ve recently learned that as well if I’m bringing up something to man and I get emotional I noticed that man doesn’t really hear or understand what’s making me upset. They just go to a woman is crying and neglect the reasoning behind it. So I recently found I if I write it out to the person it’s better understood because I can better logically explain what’s going on. It’s hard when your the type of person that when your really mad you emotional so the lawyer in you doesn’t come out correctly… that’s why it’s I feel Liss I have to wait until I’m just about over it before I can express myself properly!
