I haven't bothered playing any of the story or new map yet. I don't know. I think I've more or less hit my saturation point after a decade; I finished 3x leg armor in late 2017 so all the essence stuff is lost on me. It's made it easier for me to take breaks & explore other games which really isn't a bad thing. Honestly, I'm not really sure how I feel about the balance. Every class effortlessly distributes boons to the point that it warps balance. GW2 used to operate on this ideal where content stayed challenging and relevant. Power creep has made a lot of content an absolute joke and things like Herald or Scrapper sustaining quickness with 0 concentration is bad design.

Underwhelming at best imo. This is as far from the quality of season 4 maps as it gets. Storytelling, map impact (look & feel) or the meta event are just "content" - and actually a downgrade on what has come before. The first Soto map had a lot of love put in by the dev's. This is at best a placeholder

@@alcapitian Some say it's some of the best content released in quite a while. It's a bit like a 50 raid/dungeon/strike or a new type of meta. It has its own map and all.

I like the new zone but i would ask to make it bigger with points of interest like tombs, crumbling monuments and lairs of rot intersparsed through the land. I wish there was more. Instead of one zone with a yet to be unlocked second half, i would make one zone more serene ghastly flora like now with aforementioned points of interest, and later second zone with ramping up of the crumbling stone culminating in a monumental cathedral and crypts which take half of the second map with a blood and rot corruption emanating from the altar room and from crypts under it.

Completely agree, not that they are the same but if you look at how games like shadow of war and lotro approached Mordor... they gave each zone such a unique feel for the "hell hole" it is... but, it is still early days, perhaps they'll do it justice 🤞

tbh entire soto is lame story wise is good i think, maps and events arent that exciting .. strikes are easy idk content seems to be way way less than any other expansion :(
