Is This Graphics Card A Scam?! AMD Radeon RX 590 GME Edition

The RX 590 GME is a model made specifically for China. It was released 3 years after the RX 580, in 2020, and is called GME ("Golden Mouse Edition"), as in the Year of the Mouse. Again. China. AMD had lots of Polaris 20 chips left over and they just released it cheap to get rid of the leftovers. They thought it would be a nifty marketing gimmick. The RX 470, RX 480, RX 570, RX 580, RX 590 GME and RX 590 are fundamentally the same thing. If your question is that they named it 590 GME and expected the chip to be a Polaris 30, just understand that the fabrication process for the 590 is the same as the 580, but manufactured at TSMC instead of Samsung. The 590 ends up merely being a higher clock / higher power GPU. Even if they'd advertised it as a pure "590" you'd be basically splitting hairs with the terminology for a >6 year-old architecture everyone knows is "meh" (although AMD did sell lots of GPUs and it basically saved their bacon).

It's not really about polaris 30 or polaris 20. It's more just I want to know if the seller (or someone before the seller) put a RX 590 GME bios on an RX 580 and then sold it as an RX 590 GME. I would consider this a scam because it wasn't originally an RX 590 GME in this case.

This video is specifically referring to the 590 GME which is different from the standard 590. 590 or 5500xt is your choice based on price, age etc, they both have their positives and negatives.@@bonaboss6686

The reason why i only get Sapphire RX... I'm still using in my computers an RX 570 Nitro+ 8gb, an other is the RX 580 Nitro+ 8gb and my main rig is an RX 590 Nitro + 8gb Anniversary Gold Edition.

i just bought a xfx rx 590 gme xfx rx 590 gme proud wolf edition 3x/Tri fans and they got custom styles which is really good but idk about the performance yet its still being shipped to me dang i just gotten the true rx 580 2304sp if thats the case of. rx590gme's

i have the rx 590 sapphire pulse and it says 12nm so the rx590 GME is a little bit older have 14nm so its a little bit different

I bought this exact card from cex for the price of a regular Rx 590. I was dubious about all the Chinese stickers on it. I opened it up to check the chip and I thought I was scammed so I took it back and found an MSI Rx 590 Armour instead. 👍

Works fine and drivers are fine. Probably an ex mining card which they may have changed the vbios on
