Is this historic Virginia Beach luxury hotel worth the price?

We recently stayed at the Cavalier Hotel in Virginia Beach, Virginia. This is one of the top luxury hotels in the Virginia Beach resort area - and also one of the most expensive. In this video, we will show you what you get for the price and discuss whether we think a stay here is worth the high price tag. We include a room tour, a visit to each restaurant in the hotel, a look at the amenities, and we will discuss the (possibly haunted?) history of this resort. Plus we will cross the street to see the hotel's beach club and go underneath the hotel to tour the only distillery housed inside a hotel in the United States - Tarnished Truth Distillery. Hey Alice & Jack, this Hotel is stunning! Offered a glass of sparkling wine as you Check In? Yes please! These rooms certainly Do have a Beautiful Modern look! I Love the pop of colors in the comfy chair & Artwork I think it's whimsical! I like the tassle instead of a "Do not Disturb" sign. I Love that they offer an indoor & outdoor pool which makes it work in any type of weather, super nice! You all give excellent tours, I always enjoy. 😊😊😊

I love the pink color, it totally pops! The inside pool is beautiful along with your view from your room! Cool history of the restaurant name, Becca. Yum cookies! So much available in one hotel. The distillery sounds like a great tour. They should do a haunted tour!

Wow, this looks like a lovely hotel! And always fun if it has some haunted history haha! A glass of sparkling wine while checking in sounds lovely! Lovely room your, the update rooms look nice and modern for a hotel from the 1920s. Becca looks lovely but i agree they look like smaller portions. The dessert sampler looks so good. Such a beautiful hotel. The valet parking its a Little pricy but Now in Las Vegas start charging for parking almost all the hotels. Great presentation. Have a great weekend!

What a beautiful place! We have family in Virginia Beach, so we will keep this one in mind if we need a hotel when we're there. The pool is awesome! Love the idea of a dessert sampler. This is a really nice hotel with a lot of amenities and good that lookers really good! The rooms were nice, spacious and offered many perks. Loved the big closet, wine and shower. The distillery is also really cool, though I'm hoping to continue my near 4-month alcohol-free streak for the foreseeable future. Still very nice though. I also really liked the pool. This is a hotel that is probably not want to leave to explore the area. Awesome video!!

This resort is just gorgeous, and it has amazing rooms. Love the lighting in the gorgeous indoor pool. Those lounge chairs looked so relaxing. Lots of great amenities. The food looked so good; especially those cookies. Nice that they gave you the recipe. The bars looked fun. Each one with its own special vibe. It’s huge. Looks like y’all had a wonderful stay. Loved all the barrels lined up along the wall.

I love when hotels have beautiful fresh flowers everywhere! This room is very pretty. I used to purposely seek out historic hotels to stay in, but stopped when I had kids. Now that my kids are much older, I might start doing that again.

The places you guys stay at are top notch. Our family’s go to is Holiday Inn Express for convenience, breakfast, and price. The hotel looks so fancy and cool they renovated. Addison would have liked the gym where Melissa would have enjoyed the brewery area. And Rosalie doesn’t care unless there is a pool like they have. Pool with a beach view is my favorite! Great tour.

Such a beautiful hotel. We have driven by this hotel many times but have never stayed here. The indoor pool was beautiful. The seating area looked so nice. Very fancy restaurant. The desserts looked the best. The cookies were a nice touch! Looks like a great experience.

I’ve had drinks here because their drinks are top notch. Never rented a room here though because of the high rates. The hotel started out as a VA/military hospital for service members. 🙂

A wonderful historic hotel, Alice and Jack. The room looked lovely and was well appointed. I believe, although it wasn't clear, that the desk had power outlets. It's amazing how many places don't. The art on the walls was truly unique! Dinner looked delicious but your right about the portion sizes. Dessert looked wonderful and even cookies in the room! Nice touch. Lovely pool and beach area. Even a distillery! Date back to "prohibition" times? Guessing it might be hidden down in the cellar. Ouch, pricey though during high season. Can't imagine paying that for a week long "beach vacation." Lovely hotel and we loved the tour. We'll stay away from the higher windows! 🤣🤣

Wow... the hotel looks awesome.. almost like staying in a castle... food looked good to me... love the old distillery... the fermenter was cool! 96 years in service... wow.. that's really cool... oh, my wife would not ever stay there knowing the story of Coors... nope.. she doesn't play when it comes to potential foul play, haunting, etc. in a place...

I just came from the SeaHill Spa at the Cavelier. I had a 50 minute massage and went to Becca afterwards. (Rockfish and Risotto were perfect)

A very lush hotel and well appointed with all the facilities. The restaurant's food looked delicious, especially your dessert Alice. The distillery would have been something I would have enjoyed doing. Thank you for taking us around on this hotel. $700.00 sounds a little steep, but it is a high ended top hotel. What a grand hotel!! It looks so beautiful, I feel like staying at the Cavalier is something you would want to do just for the history of it. I loved the tour and history, but I do get nervous about staying any place that might have a haunted history. I hate it when you have to pay for parking if you're staying at the hotel, but I guess that is what happens almost everywhere now. The food looks amazing. I think I might be able to handle the $300 per night, but $700 is way too high for us. Awesome hotel review, I really enjoyed watching. Like 38, thanks for sharing!!

@@trvlnthru one to try if you have not is what I call “the homestead” in Hot Springs VA. They are now owned by the Omni Corp but it’s a very similar feel to the Cavalier. But yes the Omni Homestead is worth a pass through
