Echo and Jocko are totally dialed in on the questionnaire's issue. Anyone who thinks there is a political divide in America, anyone who thinks there will be a civil war of some sort, clearly hasn't spoken to other real people recently. Get out of your bubble. Break the monotony, break the paradigm. Get outside. Talk to your neighbors. Talk to strangers. Talk to other people. Opinions may differ, but we are not that different. Americans have never agreed on anything. Our disagreement and our ability to work through those differences is a hallmark of our freedom. But when you talk to that other person, when you engage them on a human level, you will quickly see and understand, that what supposedly "divides us," is really just a mirage.

Leadership = guidance towards growth and productivity which is progress. Not only for the Leadership, but for the people being led. If Leadership puts the emphasis on the people, the people will grow into leaders themselves. People on the same team need to beware of jealousy, envy, and unhealthy competiveness. These will all undermine the collective goal of the team creating unnecessary obstacles and strife. It reveals selfishness in individual's motives and intentions. Active listening in the "chain of command" up and down is a lost asset within most relational systems whether its husband and wife, manager and employee, etc. God gave you ears, shut up and listen! If the product is more valuable than you as a person then you might need to move on. Effective articulation in communication requires listening first, and then speaking. This is indirect. Asking questions prompts the team to identify their own errors and empowers them to make the appropriate adjustments thus you have now indirectly confronted the issue without confronting the person. The effect is you promoted growth, not only with the individual, but with the team and the product or goal. Its like killing three birds with one stone. Who would've thunk????

I am happy for the clarification. Also interesting that I thought I was being direct when by your definition I was being indirect although I have work to do in that area. I guess as far as I see it if we are on the same team we all want to increase in positive outcomes. That being said it is very obvious that what is being sold to the populous politically does not reflect what most people desire, sometimes it is easy to lose track of that. However we are also living through tumultuous times and that shouldn't be discounted especially considering the forces at work to manipulate people and to generate unnatural outcomes to the political process (such as it is). One only needs to look a the actual proof surrounding past political processes and what is going on to see this. If we are not careful, the future will be more bleak than it could be, and to be aware of it and try to mitigate the effects of such destructive activity has been called extremist by some who it is surmised, wish to maximise the effects of thier actions to garner control and erode the rights of the constitution. In my opinion.

Wow no need to write a book Just realize you made the mistake of shooting 1st and asking questions later you want to do that the other way around. Just be mindful of when you're making assumptions and remind yourself not to act on that assumption until it's no longer an assumption That little bit of self awareness will allow You to take the time That way you don't have to tell people what you meant by what they said.

We live in the Age of Hype. Sure we got crime increasing, school shootings, and people are pissed off. But we are not anywhere near civil war in the USA. I am an ex-pat now, the places I have been that were really scary, on edge, people did not talk tough, no hype. Americans are Hollywood actors, talking tough, acting tough, but real violence on a mass scale I do not see. In '92 I remember the LA riots, that was near civil war in LA, it was tense, I thought then it could kick off nationwide. Our murder rate was 3 times as high as now, people did not talk tough, they shot each other. Now we got a country of apathetic internet-iPhone staring wannabees, preppers, and everyone wants to raise awareness off the pedo deep state or repub Handmaids Tale emerging dystopia. But they aint acting out, they are annoying their friends to death with links to some half baked theories. There has been no Democratic gun seizure, martial law, chip implants, mass vaccine die offs, nothing...but Alex rants every day this is coming, tommorow, and buy his vitamins please. America has never been more out of shape, apathetic and unprepared for hardship, passive in the extreme. There will be no civil war, I am sure of it.

Jacko! Buddy, I feel like we've had this conversation before. I think your reaching on this one for some reason. and I think it's probably cuz your a Jar head, not an English major, you study linguistics' much? If i ask google synonym of direct "truth" nor "honesty" come up. So it's certainly not a strong synonym. Ironically "lead " to lead to direct comes up. So to be Indirect would almost be opposite of lead. Dropping bread crumbs for some one to find .. would be being indirect. And manipulation is just a tool Are hitting nails with it or head or cooking a roast with it. To manipulate some one properly means not Bering deceitful, being reciprocal and your goal needs to property thought out. IF someone doesn't properly understanding a situation and your reframe it in manner that changes his understanding that's m manipulation. Vs I don't care what you think you know do the job. helping some one find ownership is manipulating them. If some one changes your mind with the truth no one gets mad.. it's when you state some things not fact to sway them that they get mad. Look man, you have an awesome recipe for success. And you'ver done a great job of outlining the prerequisites , why you need them and how to improve them and when read the things you need to implement. The pragmatic simplicities is why it's effective. But i don't think you can repackage it and call it 2.0 .. high level content ... is hard... especially to maintain over time ..but don't sacrifice the product quality that got you here ..just to stay here. For some reason young's up on a word .. sugar over vinegar.. cooperative leadership over tyrannical.. Supportive leadership vs Dog eat dog Your talking about some one who doesn't demand things out right regardless their right to them by showing respect to all levels of the team .. i don't think that's being indirect
