Nothing scarier than glissando on stiff action pianos. I know a few concert pianists have to have surgery on their thumb because of that

I practiced your technique and although it worked, it was not as practically applicable in the concerto I did. Nonetheless I won the competition.

Very clever-I think Liszt would approve of this technique. Now, a vid on the seconds ‘glissandi” in the Prokofiev 3rd concerto, please?

Play the seconds, don’t do glissandi. Problem solved.

⁠@@XPKpianist I agree. That’s why i said “glissandi”-the seconds sound like glissandi, but they are not. There are options great pianists like Argerich use that don’t follow Prokofiev’s fingering. I think an exploration of this would be interesting and helpful.

@@iampracticingpiano I think Argerich did actually follow Prokofiev’s fingering throughout the passage (playing 2 notes with one finger). When I played it, I did a lot of hand crossing for this passage.
