I’m gonna ask a few questions first: what kind of guitar do you have? Are you a beginner/intermediate/or established player? What kind of music are you playing? And is it mostly rhythm/strumming or lead or fingerpicking?

@@ASWJ11 without knowing what kind of playing you are doing, I'd say go for the heaviest gauge you can handle. the sound and feel will almost always be better. But if you are doing delicate work, like fingerpicking, or lots of bending, then the lighter 10s would probably be best. I've tried many gauges and brands over the years, (and I'm always trying new ones), and the thicker the string, for an acoustic, the bigger the sound. So, lots of strumming: heavier gauge. Fingerpicking or bending: lighter strings. For electric, it's not as important, because the amp can make up for any volume or tone lost. On my guitar in most of my videos, I've got 11s or heavier. But it also does depend on the guitar. I don't know your model, but if you try some different gauges, you'll soon notice that some suit your guitar better than others. Hope that helps!
