I am one of the 30k views who used to play wc3 and actually reinstalled it after watching grubby play for the past week cause I miss it and remembering the fun I had playing it back 20 years ago.

Blizzard became a weirdo company. Getting 100 win 0 loss as grubby mentioned recently "was" a thing. They paired up some weird match sets. Getting 50/50 became the normal. I used to play lots of 3v3 and almost always won if an allied dropped and had a good rate on 2 dropped allies. Something weird was up with the bnet. They wanted all the glory for a few. It's tripped. I wasn't getting dropped allies, I was getting AFK and was stuff with just below 50/50 win rate. I remember these guys. They did the 3 v3 too, they'd be on the same team..

I only played wc3 for the campaigns when they came out. Then I became a crippled world of warcraft addict for 20 years and then died. I found Grubby's channel when he was popping off on league of legends content. I don't even like RTS games that much. I'm just here to hear Grubby drop sage advice about random topics while clicking a lot of buttons.

hahahaha i came to back to play wc3 again and was thinking the game is slow as hell, then i realized it's just grubby that is a crackhead, managing slow units at the speed topplayers do it's almost impossible and they make it seem they're faster

i never really played WC3 except custom games cuz the army comps didnt make sense to me and seeemed like every unit had a place and use case and i didnt think i could ever figure outall of them. Grubby made me understasnd that 3 or 4 units are most important and i could probably play melee if i wanted

In the first game, it would help him if you mentioned the breaker upgrades. People always underestimate upgrades. Also, it seems people still assume that "race?" means you saw that they were random and want to know their race. Maybe saying "Missed loading screen. race?" would help.

You can't really distinguish between the two things we call micro and macro. One affects the other. (I define micro as the speed at which you can control your units "correctly", not just APM, which is also influenced by unnecessary clicking between your barracks, altar, and the main base, for example.) If you have slow micro, you will lose more units, and therefore you’ll need more or better units to train-more money, i.e., an expo (macro). In other words, without micro, you don't have macro. If your reaction time (micro) is slower than your opponent's, you'll need to spend more mental effort to avoid losing significantly more units at the beginning. This, in turn, causes you to neglect your macro. On the other hand, if you improve your macro at the expense of your micro, you will lose significantly more units in battles. You can have few knights against more spellbreakers but still lose the battle. Grubby, for example, has played the game his entire life and has incredible control over his units, which usually looks so effortless. This allows him to focus on macroing, strategies, and other aspects of the game. In his terms, not focusing on micro will still lead to better results than what an average player could achieve. That is why he talks about it so often. In summary, micro is much more important. You can verify this with a regression analysis with macro as the dependent variable and micro as the independent variable. :D

I played wc3 from release to 2006 when I hopped on the wow train as an annoying 12 year old. I still watch Grubby. I also unfortunately own reforged because I wanted to replay the campaign on hard out of nostalgia, but I gave up after about the 20th random crash during the campaign.

When I compare you and Fortitude I think he has always shop on point when needed and you take sometimes so much unexpeted risk for unhealed units/heroes which can be punished by better opponnents, just if you wanna tryhard more.

I've started playing WC3 after a loooong hiatus. The Human towers I knew and rather relied on seem much weaker. Opponents simply walk in with units and destroy them in seconds. Did they nerf them big time?

I don't think so. If anything, they've been buffed slightly, with their repair rate being buffed and arcane tower doing more feedback damage to heroes. They did nerf the improved masonry upgrade at one point, but looks like that was 13 years ago now. If it's been longer than that for you, maybe that's what you're feeling?

The repair rate was slashed down considerably 15 years ago or something like that. It actually killed the T1 towerrushes and T2 towerpushes. I think they buffed it back up a bit, but not to the original extend

One of 30k, at most will play Wintermaul One in customs every once in awhile. I love playing the actual game but it requires so much more physical and mental energy than I usually want to give it. After two or three days my eyes hurt and my fingers cramp.
