This is so convoluted it’s insane. Very simple answer is have the biologists do the math on sustainable harvest within given game zones and set a tag limit. Why does Alaska make this so complicated?

Yes, it isn't very clear to say the least. I know I passed up a lot of bulls for not being sure. Since I hunt alone, most of my time living in Alaska when I even had time to go hunt. That time of year is very busy for pilots. I would choose to hunt Skika Black Tail Deer. I can handle those myself without much issue. One or two was plenty of venison for me. Most years I never had the time, Some posts say you should not hunt at all, I guess they never walked into a grocery store is say, Bethel, you think food prices are high right now and they are, in the lower 48 it double in Alaska for starters on the road system and gets more and more expensive the further you have to haul it, Some areas see more pressure than others.

ONLY in the province of BC ... you have to count and measure the tines before shooting the game animal. ONLY in BC does a regulation count tines only on one side... Only in BC can a hunter harvest a big game animal which a tines cannot be wider that one inch one inch measure down from the tip of the tines... ONLY IN BC Soooo when do you know to shoot...?

Measure it before you shoot it. Make sure you can see all the points, but cows that don't have antlers are difficult to tell from bulls that do. Please ask the moose to stand still so you can measure him before retreating to shoot it.
