Great video and great points. I couldn’t agree with you more. My go to weapon and ammo right now is a Kedr suppressed and using PSO ammo. I use 30 round mags and just aim for fully geared players legs. The gun is an absolute beast and I’ve taken down three men squads no problem because I put played them. Just wanted to add to what you said and hope people realize you don’t need the best ammo in the game to be successful. I’m only a level 20 and I’ve taken down level 40’s, lots of 30’s and many around my level. Thanks for the video and I’ll see you out there!

This is awesome. I kinda asked you a question like this on the previous video that you were actually kind enough to answer. Now this advice is put into a video with a series of smart plays in it. I've been improving a lot in the last few days, feel like i've doubled or even tripled in 'skill'. Got the week of from work, it's shitty weather outside, so it's gaming time. Watching your vids and indeed deadlyslob, pestily, veritas, sacriel and worrun's channels has made a significant difference. For the moment I play mainly customs, woods and factory but i should start to move on for the tasks I need to do on the other maps. I am also using the best ammo like many suggest but for some reason scav runs have been making BANK for me. Got the hideout almost sorted out. Still feel like I discovered only 30-40% of the game and still learning new things everyday. So many guns to try out, some many different play styles, different types of fights. This game is giving me this feeling I had when I was younger when I got totally hooked to my favorite games of all time (CS:GO, H1Z1, Battlefield 2). Played some insurgency before this as well but this is miles better.

What i do is play with a weapon which has affordable ammo types. I never play with an M4 or HK416 because of that. Just a VSS with sp6 or AK74 with BS or igolnik depending on the price is all you need.

This is a good video , and From another KZbinrs video , I realized that playing on a big screen (30-40” and up) with max fov your bullets don’t always go where they are supposed to . Apparently there’s many issues with Tarkov due to desync , changing fov from default 50 , and other complexities with armor and ammo that for new players is very crippling to the confidence of them ... going less than 75 fov helped me a lot , only been playing for 2 days with New fov and it feels much better .

Tarkov is by far the most newbie-fucking game I have ever encountered, and the fleemarket has not really made it better, it just gives new players a chance to get fucked by hardcore players and veterans in between raids aswell :D

Had looted enough BT ammo to run a budget AK with 4 full mags. I wanted budget as I was just trying out rushing marked room on customs. Ran into Rashala and managed to kill them all solo and extract. Admittedly I got lucky only ran into a low geared solo and killed him, but still, you can manage with less than top tier ammo.

Positioning and situational awkwardness are the two things that can save you or kill you in a raid. Good positioning can (somewhat) make up for bad ammo and being aware of an enemy before they are of you can end a fight before it starts.

Thanks for your videos and insights! This is really helpful. As an absolute beginner to this game i have to admit that i never before found it so difficult to just get started. The frustrating part - as a left handed person not playin WASD keys and using the mouse with my left hand - is to even figure out which are the key moves to be used. Being limited with available keys around the "arrow keys" on my keyboard, i am already stuck with the moves of my pmc. Anyway - thanks again for the great insights. Still hoping to find some best practice on playing Tarkov as a left-hand-mouse-user ;-)

Bring kill mags and scav mags. Keep top tier in kill mags. Keep the in far left of your rig so they reload preferentially. Then a few mags second or third tier for killing scavs and hatchlings. Saves a ton of money.

Maybe. But maybe not. That’s the whole point of the video. You can absolutely drop a geared guy with PS. It will definitely be harder to do for sure. But if he uses that ammo and does well with it then that’s awesome. What happens when you die 5 times in a row with mags full of 995? Everybody dies and everybody gets kills. It’s all just Tarkov. Good ammo does not make a player good.

As a professional rat. I do agree than there a lot of "budget" option than are being way underrated/slept on.... The things is than, this wipe, level 5 armor are not THAT frequent at all...the standard seem to be level 4. Often the high end round are almost overkill waste of money. VSS with SP5, shotgun with flechette/AP-20, 5.45 AK with BP/BT, 7.62 PS (that things for the price still have a good 34 pen, 54 damage....budget akm/ak-103 can actually be pretty scary with dirt cheap map you can just dump intro people all day long), Mp7 with subsonic (I think subsonic is being sleep on, 34 pen at 950 RPM with low recoil shred in CQB)....And obviously the sniper round (even a low mod fal/m1a with m80 is a killer deal for under 100k with optic and everythings). Damn, even kerd are surprisingly effective.

Everyone keeps banging on about ammo..Quick tip, if scavs with the "worst ammo" can 1 shot players (with armor) ammo is not important. We use "the best" ammo according to everyone, yet have to put 8-10 hits into scavs ( no armor ) and up to 12 hits into players (no armor). Helmets are pointless too, I 1 shot head shot killed a dude from 50m away and looted him......helmet was still 100%. We wear them and get insta killed with head shots all the time.

I just keep a mag with good ammo in my rig and the rest with normal ones but have a stack of good ammo in my alpha to repack and I works well cuz I normally die immediately so I only use 2mags of 995 or bp

I like to use gear that is all similar in value. For example I would never go in with a top tier gun packed with the best ammo while using level 2 armour.

Tarkov is not that hard, it just gives the illusion of being hard because of passive skills and gear difference. It is a somewhat different skillset than most fps games, but thats not the main reason new players think its hard.

I think they need to remove the global cap on ammo while keeping the per person limit. That could naturally keep people from price gouging because someone will always be able to undercut without people completely flooding the market.

Personaly i roll with low profile builds. Toz with 5 or 4 round mag with 1 devastator ammo in all magazine then pellets i pref the cheapest its flesh damage is still nice and easy to 1 tap unprotected faces. For the 1 devastator ammo i use it when i manage to ambush somebody that thing hit like a truck! You can criple anything with it and have 1.0! Fragmentation chanche. You can 3 tap any player with that thing in leg. But most of the time i chill with scav and low lv player hunts. When i see a high lv most of the time if i know i can escape and enugh far avay i shot his leg the throw a generade then back of. Sometimes it give me full gear or just make the guy run a nightmare with blacked out leg.

Producing ammo in hideout is, apart from good rides, my main source of profit lately. I usualy am able to produce more then I use, so selling 995 for 1450 or 7.62 bp for 900 per round is good buisnes : )

Any shitty ammo is only good to resell an buy better ammo. BS/7N39/M995 kills people from 2-4 rounds in 6 class armor. 5 class which is Killa and Gen4 those rounds basically ignores. Don't be stupid, take an AK with no dust cover but at least 2 mags of good ammo.

Indeed "use the best ammo" is a sound advise, but as you stated in the video - it's not actually THE best advise. Using the best ammo is almost as pointless as using "the meta gun", if you can't use it properly - You'll spend a fuckton of money on it and die in your first encounter because you are just bad otherwise. An experienced gamer should KNOW what their weaknesses are and adjust accordingly. I know that for the time being i am a terrible noob at Tarkov and hardly know any of the maps. I've been play a massive amount of time since i got the game 1 month ago but it's nothing compared to the beasts that roam it. I don't know the angles, i don't know the spawns, i don't know all the popular spots. I don't know how to properly handle every gun. I am not used to the sighting and bullet drop. I still die to complacency. I KNOW that when i lose a fight, at my current state, it's not because my shots didn't pen, it's because i suck right now. That's why i run T4 armour, the penis helmet and 2nd or 3rd best ammo in a gun modded enough to be fun to use without breaking the bank. One day i'll move to higher gear, but first i need the experience.
