The constant improvement from Tatum every single year is exactly what you wanna see. Every season you can see within just a few games that he’s gotten better at handling, finishing, playing through contact, and playmaking

He will continue to get stronger and better…fun to watch

What Tatum also needs to do as leader of the team is what LeBron, MJ have done...use the first quarter to do more facilitating (move the ball...help teammates get touches, create for them) so they are in rhythm offensively. A team leader is more than the guy who scores the most points. It is not a coincidence that KP, for example, is having trouble lately making the long ball shots, his calling card. The guy is a rhythm shooter, needs touches and be engaged offensively.

Every single year at the beginning of the year you can tell what he's worked on. He's markedly better at something every season (sometimes more than 1 thing).

@@garolehmejian6052 He'll come upon that. It's an experience. Let him learn that. The lack of within an experience will teach him that.

This is great analysis. I've noticed his tendency to use the lob pass over the last year or two. He uses them in situations where they aren't needed, and it gives defenders time to make a play on the ball.

There’s not many things Tatum can get better at. But the two things that would make him unstoppable would firstly be his decision making at times. So far this year it’s been better than previous years but sometimes he’ll hit a couple jump shots and then whether it’s open or not his next 3-4 shots will be contested mid range or threes instead of taking what the defense gives him. Second is his free throw shooting, for his career he’s shooting 84% and it’s down to just below 80% this year so far but if he could get it up to 88-89+ then he could be more physical when driving to the basket

Nah, he is still young. I think he will reach his peak in the next 3-5 years. Working with Pierce and Cassell in the off-season really helped his low-post and mid-range game though

Lol there’s no way people think he’s peaking right now this is a terrible take unless he gets injured he’s still far from His peak

Jason Tatum displays superb athleticism and finesse when shooting from the perimeter and driving to the basket. Would like to see more passing to the open man on his part and that if his teammates. Sometimes they indulge in too much one-on-one play. They might do well to watch some videos of Celtics during the Russell and Bird etas.

Sure his improvement on attacking the basket is awesome but his fade away has been lethal this year. His new contract in going to melt people's minds. He's a 3 level scorer and he's a two-way player. JT is just DIFFERENT 😅! 0☘️💚 If he can get a ring or two, he'll go down as one of the greatest Celtics ever.

Not even close. Next level coming

He doesn't have trouble with double teams...he's just not looking for them as much when he goes into attack mode. When he sees that, he'll instantly improve. And many of these double teams blitz you.

Its easy to conflate his 60-50 point barrages with better play. I'm actually thinking it is. But by no means does that downplay what he's doing now.

He's 25, so probably not.

"Tatum has pretty much always has the ball on a string" ? Have ww been watching the same guy? His ball handling uses to be very mediocre. It's gotten dramatically better though.
@garolehmejian6052 Жыл бұрын
His improvements are more in the arena of iso ball. Would like to see him be more impactful playing off team mates. That would also cut down on his turnovers and bring about a more connected team on the floor. In a recent game, I didn't think his 45 points were as impactful, by energizing teammates ,as La Melo's 37points that connected with teammates.
@Bleed-GREEN-CELTICS-19 Жыл бұрын
That's because of the style of play. Iso vs a total team player. Even in these clips it was iso dribbling and players just watching. While his inside game has gotten better its still iso ball.

Let's hope he's getting there. We could use a couple of crunch time buckets from time to time... 60+ ain't worth sh*t without the W. Otherwise, we're again not gonna make it ;-(
