I met him in a ice cream shop in Newport Beach.. was super cool, and joking around with me and my sister the whole time.. then he went to pay and I saw his world series ring and said, "oh wow! My sister and I are huge baseball fans! Wait, Reggie!" And his expression completey went blank.. like a robot.. I said, may I take a picture with you, since he was the only one in the place, and he barely responded.. when my sister took the picture he didn't smile or anything, and immediately got in his suv out front, stared at us for a couple seconds, then drove off.. so weird. Went from the nicest guy in the world, to a total jerk in seconds when I realized who he was.. kinda weird to me..

My first ballgame was at the Coliseum in 1980- A’s/Yankees. I was 5 years old and knew nothing about the game or players. I asked my mother who I should root for and as an NY transplant she told me “ We’re from New York and we’re here to see the Yankees, but you can root for whoever you’d like.” I chose the A’s and 42 years later I never wavered for a moment. I refused to step foot in another ballpark ( including the new Giants park) until about 10 years ago when I went to Petco park- to watch A’s VS Padres. Having moved to San Diego over a decade ago I have great respect for Padres and love Petco, but I am A’s for life. Also had good times at the coliseum going to concerts, especially Metallica/Guns N Roses Day On The Green. Just did a pilgrimage to the park this past weekend to pay my respects as I do believe they will tear it down soon. The attendance may have been minimal but the spirit was strong. No one had their phone out, everyone was fully focused on the game. Everyone had all their best green and gold on. After the game we all went down on the field and were treated to a fireworks show. They didn’t bother covering the field, they just invited us all down to be on the grass. That’s down home East Bay style- come on in, pardon the mess, do your thing, you are welcome here. I do believe the A’s are going to Vegas and maybe that’s a good thing. Oakland could use more housing and industry and that area is a good choice to develop both. I will be forever proud to wear my green and gold and will likely continue to call the team the Oakland A’s no matter where they go. Thank you to all the staff and all the legendary characters at the coliseum who made the park what it is and made us all feel like a beloved part of the A’s family. Let’s go Oakland! Now and forever.

The tarped-off seating is pretty much unusable for baseball. Because of the angle, you can only see half the field from up there. Those seats are part of Mount Davis, the towering structure in the outfield that was built for the Raiders (who have left for Las Vegas). One of the ballgirls at 15:49 was Debbie Fields, who went on to found Mrs. Fields Cookies. That's Bert Campaneris at 17:20. The A's attendance has been terrible this season. They doubled ticket prices and traded away some of the fans' favorite players. They've had the worst won-lost record in MLB at times this season, and they currently have the second-worst. They've let the ballpark deteriorate, presumably because they know they'll be moving soon.

Henderson one of my favorite players of all time and was still showing the young kids how to play hard in his late 40's. Living in NorCal now I've been to a few A's games in the last few years and oddly enough every time we sat in the lower deck between home plate and 3rd base. We parked on the same side about half-way between the park and the street and it seemed to only take us 10 minutes to exit the lot every time. Took about 5 minutes to walk to car and another 5 to get out of the lot. And then of course the almost 2 hour trip home. I did hear that they finally decided to build a new park because if the A's left Oakland, they would probably never get another pro sports team again.

I live about an hour and a half from there and have been going to games on both sides of the bay for 40 years. The Coliseum has looked like that for 30 years. The scoreboard looks like something out of a run down community college. The Giants stadium was built 22 years ago and looks like it's from another planet compared to the Coliseum. That place is a dump!

Where are the fans? I remembered standing in-line forever just to get in the park. Yes, I hear the A’s owner just letting the stadium fall apart so he can move the Team elsewhere (Vegas)?! Huge fan of Bash Brother here.

Killer content, commentary and info! Rickey Henderson is my favorite player of all time and this video alone got me to subscribe to your channel… Thanks bro! You need to come to Spring Training for the Az in Mesa Arizona… They have probably the nicest stadium in the cactus league, the biggest Jumbotron

L was a Giant fan bur years ago when MvGuire was a rookie this "dump" was not this bad. Who ruined this place was Al Davis. He added the upper deck in the outfield and this place was never the same. The last 5-8 years is when the this place became real bad and not safe.

I grew up in Oakland and am a lifelong A's fan. The glory days of the 70's are fond memories along with the 'roid years and Loma Prieta earthquake against the hapless Giants. But I'm disappointed that current A's ownership has decided to create the worst team in baseball just to ease the transition to Las Vegas. The money in Vegas is just too much. So it is with a heavy heart I say goodbye to my Oakland Athletics. (I still pray for the 9th inning 2out, 2strike walkoff homer, but...) Had to say goodbye to the Raiders too, but I got used to that, they did it already.

Hi Jordan, as always we enjoy each and everyone of your videos, were to began. We really enjoyed all the videos in Vegas with Todd and Cat, we think it is so cool that you all became friends. Really enjoyed seeing all the great movie memorabilia that Todd has displayed on the items his mother the great Debbie Reynolds had collected. We were luck enough to meet Miss Reynolds at her dinner club she owned. She told so many great stories about some of the items that she collected, she was fascinating to listen to. Glad you had a good time with your wresting we know you enjoy that. Your trip with Scott from start to finish was fun to watch and it was great to see Scott with you again. We will admit we do miss seeing Jah with you. Hopefully he is going well. We also really like the video you did on Johnny Cash's house. That was so nice they reached out to you so you could go see it. All in all Jordan we really enjoy all the videos that you do, keep up the good work. Can't wait to see your next videos.

I can't believe you caught 2 home runs ON VIDEO! So cool. Shockingly light on attendance, though. Fun game. I remember Mets hot dogs as the best hot dogs anywhere (in the 70s.) I used to eat 8 at every game! (And I only weigh(ed) 90 lbs.)

They won't get the teams like they had in the early 70's since the big money hit the league and Qakland is a smaller market team where players develope and move on like Tamp Bay. I would like to see the team get a new stadium in Oakland for the fans. If you build it, they will come. Oakland deserves it more than Las Vegas.

Paid $10. We then went to the $75 -$100 seats. Kept changing seats after each Inning. Nobody was there, so we saw the game from multiple angles. We left after 8 innings. We tried to take the BART train back to our hotel but we couldn't. Apparently there was a shooting near one of the train stations. So everyone had to be transferred via bus. Not a fun experience. That's Oakland for you.

That's how I experienced Tigers games the past couple times, 10 buck upper deck seats and then moved to the baseline in the third inning
@danielplainview9262 жыл бұрын
@@Karmy. Yup. Why let perfectly good seats go unused. From what the stadium employees said, they traded away their good players who were just becoming good for even cheaper players. Plus, they raised ticket prices for a substandard product. Why give the A's a new stadium with a penny pinching ownership group?

I’m an A’s fan till the end. Through and through. Alameda county taxes the PISS out of the ballclub. There is no greater stealer than Rickey and some of the best to ever take the mound wore the A on their chest. I think the county needs to get on with the waterfront stadium or hire the staff needed to fix what’s broken at the Coliseum. That coliseum is living history. Al Davis. The greatest A’s teams of all time. Right there in that Coliseum. 3 deck dingers hit by some of the best. There is more than meets the eye here to people who are not die hard A’s fans

When I tell you we only get about 1K people coming thru that side it’s sad. I miss the days when I was a kid and everyone was just there because it’s our cities team. Now I’m just working there watching it come to an end.

I hope they get a new stadium some day it would be a shame if they moved. I use to go to Mariners games in the Kingdome with 7k or 9k fans, I was a kid then an still loved going but looking back on it it's not cool. One person could yell clear on the other side of the place an you could hear it because there was too few people talking to drown it out. There were lots of games like that where Griffey Jr was playing, on nights Randy Johnson was pitching attendance would double to 16 or 17k. I'm so grateful they got a new stadium an stayed, the games are way better now an we still have baseball. The new stadium still feels new to me even after 20yrs or whatever it's been, it's still a great place to me. Oakland needs that.

I can remember the A's late 80s when the earthquake hit the world series as a kid, things change, that's a normal thing. If you hold on too tight it becomes a financial burden. Get rid of it or fix it before the glory days are forgotten due to holding on too tight.
