Curious to know what/if Payton told Loomis anything regarding candidacy between DA and Rizzi, as both were candidates. Was there a reason for DA to get the nod over Rizzi in the first place? It could be Rizzi gets the job regardless of how the record looks, or maybe he goes 8-0 and they still give it to someone else. Given this "buy-in", if the game plan is sound, the Saints have the talent to win against anyone. If McCoy is healthy, or at least able to play, the Saints can win the rest. Despite what you guys might think about Carr or Kamara, it centers around the center.

Payton did vouch for DA and even publicly supported DA to be coach. Most likely because DA had been on his staff for a long time and seen him grow as a coordinator. He even chose him to be the interim coach for the one game in 2021 that Sean Payton was out with covid and saints won 9-0. Just didn't work out. Some people are better at being coordinators than head coaches.

the packers game actually looks better imo than this rams team. Jordan love will give this defense its chances to get turnovers and i think the saints o line can get the run game going if mccoy is healthy. Rams games will really tell how good of a coach rizzi is though if he can outduel someone like mcvay.
