Ever since I arrived in New York city, Simpsons restaurant was recommended a few times, so like always I wanted to try the food myself and see how Caribbean flavors are represented here in the city. What I quickly noticed is that even though the ownership might be Jamaican, the food was more so a fusions approach to cooking. Location: Simpsons Restaurant and Bar (Brooklyn, NYC) 📍 www.thesimpsonrestaurantbk.com/

I enjoyed your video, however for real good tasting you MUST visit Queens N.Y. The Door- located on the corner of Guy R Brewer and Baisley Blvd. The food here is amazing. They offer both take out and restaurant seating. You might need to call ahead for restaurant seating. Also, across the street in Rochdale mall is OB Bakery. Enjoy!!!😋

I hear your criticism and I unerstand it but I think it's complcated almost every Jamaican I 've seen doing cooking tutorials on KZbin cooks extremely different from each other my mom was born and raised in Jamaica left in her late twenties she was born in 1940's she cooked for alot of other Jamaicans and they loved her food and told her she should open up a restaurant and when she was young she worked at Hannatown Bakery but her generation didn't cook like what I see you guys doing and she even told us she was puzzled by what a lot of Jamaican cooks were doing especially putting browning in stews and over using ginger she only ever used browning for baking her cakes and sweet breads and being used to my mothers food I always thought it was weird when I saw this dark almost black stew chicken or oxtail I avoided those dishes when eating from restaurants I guess what I'm trying to say is because all the different generations and time Jamaican food obviously evolved and because Jamaicans are a mixed group some dishes might have more chinese enfluence or indian spanish portuguese british african etc that being said what is real Jamaican food and who determins that? because from what I've seen and food I've eaten we are all very different from each other almost as if the food comes from a different country altogether
