I recently purchased the upgraded aluminum trucks and fresh sets of cushions. They should arrive in the mail soon. I've broken many of the nylon/composite black trucks. Two specific problems I run into with the composite trucks; first, the pivot pin socket breaks/cracks; second, the axels wiggle through the trucks. I look forward to seeing if the new aluminum trucks solve this problem. Also, I'm looking into hydro-dipping the new trucks....

I got a pair of these as an impulse ebay purchase a while back but have always been paranoid about them breaking doing the skating I'm accustomed to given how light they are. Now I'll have to go and make a pair of jam skates one of these days.

I still have my Power-trac plates from 93, they haven't changed at all
@rollerskateuniverse67633 жыл бұрын
Sort of, the original hyper powertracs with the red trucks were made of a more brittle nylon until they started making the black trucks. Eventually, the toestop bosses had a relief cut and pinch bolt added. Later, the pivot pins were made larger. Unfortunately, the newer pivot pins do not fit the older plates. Currently, they are offered with aluminum trucks now. Either way, they are exceptional plates that seemingly last forever!

Would you use this for rhythm and shuffle skating since that style is mostly heel toe action?
@rollerskateuniverse67633 жыл бұрын
Great question! They work phenomenally for shuffle skating but rhythm skating will also work, provided you don't do a lot of deep loops, they don't turn very tight. The pro-line by labeda is a much better option to cover both styles of skating.

@rollerskateuniverse6763 Жыл бұрын
They don't steer nearly as much, they're designed for wide sweeping turns and fast straightaways
@austinkoskinen-falls61227 ай бұрын
What do u recommend? Sure grip power Trac, synyder advantage or labeda proline? Thanks.
@rollerskateuniverse67637 ай бұрын
I find the pro-line does the most out of the 3 for really much less work. The advantage really requires a lot more adjustment to get the most out of it, and steering is pretty limited on the powertrac comparatively. If you do shuffling predominantly, the powertracs are easily the best. The stability at speed, the shortest nose, and lowest price make it the winner for shuffle

@@rollerskateuniverse6763 so the proline would be good for speed or freestyle? Thanks a lot

Hey brother, I’m coming back into skating after a 20 year hiatus. I picked up VNLA Jr. Lagoons and love the boots, plates are not very precise or predictable at speed. I’m 5’11” and 190 and like to skate fast (trucking/rhythm). My old skate was a 395 on Power Tracs with Power Plus wheels. I already upgraded to Roller Bones Turbo and love them in a 92a. I’m very happy with the boot for now and want to go ahead and upgrade the plate. Should I get back into a Power Trac or is it worth looking at upgrading to something different like Reactor Pro, Snyder Adv., Proline, Giotto, or Arius Platinum? I want to be able to do middle work (no ground work) just shuffling/edging, spins, manuals, etc. I’m not sure if I’ll ever be doing double axles or toe touches again. What’s your advice? Once these VNLA’s go down I’ll pick up some 395 again.
@rollerskateuniverse67639 ай бұрын
I'm actually on a Lagoon with a powertrac on it currently and it works pretty well, and it does everything I need it to. The pro boots from VNLA are a big step up from the junior series also. You really can't go wrong with the pros or 395s, the juniors will get you back into everything gradually
@2ndAveScents9 ай бұрын
@@rollerskateuniverse6763 wow man that’s actually extremely helpful!! I had no idea the Pro boot was anything more than a color way! I’m definitely going to look into those because they’re a great price! I’ll go ahead and pick up some power tracs and let you know how it goes!
