If warning lights coming on the dashboard constantly were an Olympic sport, the Volkswagen Caddy would take the gold medal, I'm glad I sold mine.

I own a 2010 caddy. First mods I did were A1 S line seats (bolt straight in) Sound deadened and carpet lined the whole van. Made a massive difference, I can now take a phone call and hear it. Fitted a pioneer head unit with reverse camera and upgraded speakers. Yes I love the caddy. I have to agree with your review ,VW need to up there game with basic sound proofing and better trim. You pay enough for them. Thanks for the review

Tried out both but the long versions, it wasn’t really a competition. I bought the Ford but agree that the menus are confusing but love the blue color of instruments and stuff.

Got a 21 plate connect ,great all round van,drives great and averages 52.3 mpg,the split passenger seat is a game changer you can fit 3m pipes etc in. Mine also has heated windscreen seat and steering wheel,not really found any faults or disappointing features in20k driving,would highly recommend,better than my old nissan nv 200 And that is hard to beat.

reliability should be first and only concern once you have that, and you know you have that, Then you can worry about that other stuff, like trim and what not

Fiat bought Chrysler, they brought the Fiat Doblo mini cargo van to the USA, they discontinued the RAM C/V cargo van, I own a RAM C/V its has 144.4 cubic feet of storage, 283 hp V6, 6 speed transmission, 1800 lbs load, 3600 lb towing, deadlock/alarm to keep your cargo safe, creature comforts, cruise control, tilt steering wheel, dual a/c heat, power windows/mirrors, heated mirrors, comfrotable cloth seats, lots of storage in the front, good sound system, optional storage compartments in the rear floor, and a great looking vehical too. There is nothing to campare it to the RAM C/V, these vans are lasting people over 400,000 miles..

I haven’t got a clue about vans or cars, but I’m currently looking at a Vauxhall combo and a ford connect on two garage websites. Both 2015, both 100k ish miles, both have service history. Combo is £5k and the ford is £10.5k. I do think the ford looks sportier and nicer but is there any actual reasonable reason for this price difference?
@joelicorn
@joelicorn 9 ай бұрын
Are you seriously comparing a Combo to a Transit? Is that even a competition? You're talking about a glorified Fiat Dobló and man most importantly it's so ugly it hurts my eyes.

Yes I am mate. And You haven’t really answered my question - so it’s 5k more expensive for a bit of plastic sport trim ?

I've owned a mk4 Caddy Black Edition and got a Transit Connect for work. Connect is better designed and a better drive... but it's a Ford so will never be as cool as a Caddy. Dunno why the stopped making the Sportline Caddy after the mk2?

It’s the exact opposite actually. I’ve owned many Fords over the years, and had very few issues. Vw is probably one of the worst brands now reliability wise. They are expensive to fix, they have a ridiculous number of sensors, and cost the consumer a lot of money to keep running every year. My Ford Transit Connect XLT drives like sports car, and is very reliable, and the lwb has good cargo space. I have several friends in my business that have these with well over 250k miles on them. The earlier years 1st gen have a few more issues but not bad…
