Half way through the video and you've already answered the two main questions I couldn't figure out while looking on the Wham Bam site. I couldn't see the top of the hotbox to figure out how I would get the top off the printer when printing was finished. I also expected some type of heater in the "hot"box. I think I'm going to look into other options like larger grow tents.

I’ve got a grow tent holding two of my printers with a 4”in inline fan pumping air out of one of those AC window inserts. Have to say it works really well! Permanently removing the lid to the Saturn has been very nice.

I think it was more for people in colder weather.i am looking for a complete enclosure with a fume extractor.i found a few online that are affordable but your video brought up something I overlooked. The USB stick.i never measured the printer with the stick in it.thanks for the video.

I have a jupiter se and purchased the wham bam flex plate.i love it.i had to bump up the bottom exposure to make it stick though

There is a usb extension cable that comes with it, so that could work! I think in colder weather you’re still going to need active heating, like a fermentation belt. I think I mentioned in the video that you want warm resin, not warm air around the resin? I still like it, I just think it’s not a standalone product, ya know? Made a video about the flex plate, I’m also a big fan!

You can add a heater to the HotBox for better heating, Wham Bam never claims to create heat, just retain it with insulation

You should get the Resin HotBox Mega for a better fit. The batteries are not included for international shipping issues, and yes the hotbox is made to not use the hood of the printer, using the hood with the HotBox makes it redundant and non efficient

Thanks for your comment! I understand why the batteries are not shipped internationally, but it wouldn’t be difficult to toss them in with domestic shipping. My biggest issue isn’t necessarily the product, it’s that it isn’t represented in a straight forward way that says, “This is intended to replace your hood, and use ventilation and a heater.” I don’t really like that they instead took a more vague approach. That said, I’ll still grab the Mega because it’s an awesome product and Wham Bam is great! I’m going to wait until I have the cash and a setup for heating and ventilation. But, I would’ve waited to purchase the one I own had I known that it isn’t too useful without the ventilation and heater. I disagree that the hood is redundant. I’d argue that it acts as an additional layer of insulation as it is a sealed enclosure whereas the hotbox is not. I doubt I’d reach similar temperatures inside the hood if I didn’t have it. Not to mention fumes. Finally, to your other comment, yes I agree it doesn’t produce heat, it maintains heat. My issue is that, without active heating, you won’t have the ideal temperatures you need during the first hour of your print. This makes the hood useless if your print fails in the first few layers. But they say that the hood helps with temperature issues with passive heating, which it doesn’t (until an hour in when a print has already had the chance to fail).

@@SpencersDesk I don’t feel when Bam makes any claims of providing heat or ventilation, rather, they provide an enclosure which is ready to equip with heat or ventilation, their support page tells you many ways that you could gain heat whether it’s adding an active heater or preheating your resin or relying on a vet band. This is the actual copy from the website and I’m not sure where you got any other ideas but I’m sure that Wham Bam was not trying to mislead you. The Wham Bam HotBox is a lightweight, easy to assemble 3D printer enclosure created for users of resin printers to get more consistent results and fewer failures with a better controlled ambient temperature. Almost every resin prints better at specific temperature ranges, especially the higher-performance and exotic resins. The HotBox is made of high-grade Nylon 600D fabric with fire-resistant coating and lined with a metallic heat deflecting internal liner that sandwiches around a strong, lightweight honeycomb insulating structure. In addition to temperature control, this enclosure helps to trap fumes, reduce sound, and has a built-in port to add fume extraction.

@@SpencersDesk by the way, I enjoyed the review, thanks

I agree they let you know. I just think they ought to add a line saying, “Hey, don’t get this unless you’re planning on using active heating and ventilation.” I don’t think it’s a wise purchase unless you plan to use them. I appreciate your comments! Thanks again!

@@SpencersDesk I think that depends on where you are and what you’re using it for, we have the printer in a warm area that we don’t need a heater, but I know of others who keep it in their garage and need one. Some get it Just to be able to keep the fumes contained and or vent them out to the window. So I don’t think everybody needs a heater, it’s really up to the user.

So you bought a product, refused to use the parts that come with it, or use it as intended, and then criticize the product and the marketing. Smh, useless video man. Just the fact that you put it over the printer cover and complain about it bumping into your usb when it comes with a usb extension cable is absolute nonsense.

That's my issue with the marketing that I tried to convey in this video. They don't have an example setup or anything like that, so what is the intended use? The point of this video was that people should consider other options if they're not going to use ventilation and that it isn't going to solve any temperature issues for you with active heating. No where does Wham Bam say that this is going to be a bad setup if you don't have active heating or ventilation. Additionally, due to the construction of the enclosure itself, you're going to need ventilation running at all times since it isn't fully enclosed. Additionally, if the intention is to set it up to have ventilation attached and never be moved, why is it designed to be portable, foldable, etc.? Why does it not have a bottom? That's my issue with how they've presented this product. I think it is a great product, and I can't wait to use it to it's full potential when I've got a cabinet built for the printer, but for now it isn't much help. I don't think that opinion is nonsense, but I'm perfectly fine if you don't agree with it.
