Hey! This was hella awesome to watch and I agree with pretty much everything you said. The criticism wasn't as good in the older videos and I believe I took it up a notch with the newer ones, the insight is still super welcome and relevant tho, this was insanely helpful! As for if this player is a fraud or not, I actually did some calculation on this and with their level they would need to have 165.000 full wins at the absolute minimum, this is assuming they get 1.000 experience per won Floor 10 match every single time, which is absolutely impossible as far as I know. The highest exp gain on F10 I have recorded is 500 but I didn't do too much digging to be fair. I am 100% certain they have played in celestial with at least some consistency before, that level is basically impossible to reach on F10 as far as I know! Anyways, loved watching this and thank you for covering it, have been a huge fan ever since I got into Strive!

I think the big issue is that people like this are pretty clearly exploiting the tower system just to get easy wins. Even if he doesn't know what RatingUpdate is, he is choosing not to do Celestial Challenge even though he is more than capable of doing it or even clearing it. Also, to my knowledge, RatingUpdate doesn't include matches where one player plugs (I mean, why would it?), so it's very possible that these players plug as soon as they are losing just so they can keep a streak. I'm not saying that's DEFINITELY what they're doing, but it's a possibility. Also, it's possible that they dodge a lot of matches as well, refusing to play people or matchups who they think will give them a hard time. And regardless of the intentions of the "frauds" in question, I think it's hard to argue against the fact that these players' existence can and does harm the experience of the people they are beating up. The whole point of a matchmaking system is so that people playing will be matched up against others of a similar skill level, here they are just completely bypassing that and choosing to fight people who are clearly far below their own skill level. Which is very much not fun for the other party. I personally don't really blame people like this too much, the system allows them to do this and I think that's the core issue. It's moreso the responsibility of the devs to prevent this from happening, to make sure the experience is fair for everyone involved. I commend what Fraud Gameplay is doing by showcasing the serious flaws of the Tower system so that it can be potentially fixed by the devs.

I really don't see the problem with that in particular when celestial is a choice. Other players avoid other players all the time for a multitude of reasons, so if they truly are cherry picking there matches let them. It doesn't hurt anyone they face on floor 10 and not having these features would be worse for the game.

Another valid reason for playing in F10 is that if you live in a region with a small player base, like OCE, it can actually be very hard to find a lot of players in Celestial, so F10 may literally be your only option at certain times of the day. That being said, most players know of this limitation, so a majority of ppl in this region just end up playing in the park.

I run into more negative examples of this all the time but Im not sure this player is doing it maliciously or anything but there is a comment below from GGSTFraudGameplay saying its basically impossible to reach that character level in F10. I feel like F10 is just a pool of insane killers who cant get matches in celestial (not their fault) or grinders dodging matchups and instead of people at that level actually trying to improve that are somewhere below entry to celestial ( me, I suck). Its a Strive problem overall though, we needed more ranks between F10-celestial but the game is too old for that this point. Also yes @12:25 Sol and Ky and all their DP buddies at all floors are doing random Dps with 50% at the slightest hint of you running up. Thats why I'm down with the new patch

This is 100% the game's fault. I used to ignore my celestial challenge because I'd always get bodied and have to wait for those stupidly long transfer screens. It was just faster to ignore it and play in floor 10. That's not what this person is doing, but Strive has been out for over 3 years and they can't implement MMR matchmaking. Rankings are pointless in this game, and the tower just sucks in general.

That guy is a total BOT. He farms easy F10 wins, so when I encounter him, I change my name and play him as much as possible. Always one-and-dones me when I wreck him (mind that I'm not teabagging, taunting or typing anything in the chat). He goes for low-level players in F10 on purpose, everyone over lvl 300 he refuses to play against. It's pretty scummy, since EU F10 is filled with F8 and F9 players since there's not many players on EU servers. Stomping newbies for internet points is plain stupid, but I kinda get it. I've seen a misconception about the original channel come up a lot in this comment section, so I'd like to clarify something on their behalf. What FraudGameplay tries to do, is show how these people are too good for floor 10, but no where near good enough to deserve to be in top 5 on RatingUpdate. These 2 assessments are *not* contradictory! What the channel criticizes is the elo farming. That's it. That's all there is to it. And according to multiple testimonies, this person immediately leaves if they lose. Which isn't "just having fun". Unless for them the only way to have fun is to win, which isn't much better imo

Huh, tbh I thought the math of how Elo works would just mean this type of behavior would even out in the end and you wouldn't really farm a significant amount of rating. Like, okay they are better than all the floor 10 players they are fighting, but they will (theoretically) eventually stabilize at an Elo that represents, say, a 99% winrate vs the typical F10 player. And celestial players that would wipe the floor with this guy will have an Elo that represents a 99.99% winrate against F10 players. Maybe I am underestimating this type of "anti-meta" strategy which isn't really generally good at high level, but has very good results against the "floor 10 meta". And I guess by design there aren't enough games between F10 and Celestial players for the two populations to "mix" and stabilize their Elo diffs. Like, in general Celestial players don't fight F10 players, so Celestial players don't drain as much Elo out of F10 as would be necessary to accurately reflect true win rates. I'm not an expert on these kind of statistics but that is my intuition. Tbh I think the easiest thing for R.U. to do is to just exclude non-celestial players from the "top player" rankings. Maybe by requiring a certain threshold of Celestial games per reset or something. Doesn't stop matchup farming or low-celestial farming, but it filters very obvious outliers.

Which again begs the question: If he shouldn't be playing on Floor 10 and is skilled enough for Celestial, how does he get beaten this much by a day 2 Nago? With like you said, holes in his gameplay. If the video is talking about how ass his gameplay is, then what's even the problem with him playing here? Even then, I don't see a problem with him playing wherever he wants in the first place tbh. i kind of question the intention behind making a channel like this. it's pretty rude to make a video calling someone out who by all accounts did not ask to be put under any sort of spotlight and is for the most part minding their own business. yeah, the dude should move on from floor 10 and he's kind of weird for not doing that, but it's way overblown to make a whole video saying he's ruining the game about it. that's not the sort of behavior that needs public shaming. it'd be one thing if he was like, running cheating scripts, picking fights with people, being an ass etc, but he ain't. we don't want an environment where players worry about people ripping their gameplay apart online when they're minding their business, so they should at least anonymize it if they're going to be so inflammatory

Celestial challenge should be once per character. If you have aura then u can use any character in heaven for a month. The tower should have infinite rematch. If a player is going to farm, wating to rematch after 3 games isn't going to stop them. You should be able to hide your tag, aura and level so you get less ducks. I used to cycle playing on the park, F10 and heaven. If l didn't get a match for 5 mins in training mode I would change lobbies. Got accused of farming. But, you don't unlock all auras multiple times, top 1 overall on ru and get1st place celestial character badge by farming F10. The rankings getting reset after every patch is lame af so now l just hang out in the park.

Honestly, I can't even blame this Sol for playing exclusively on F10. Maybe I'm just projecting, but celestial floor by its very design is created for sweats, tryhards and actual pro players and nobody else. Not to mention the celestial challenge is absolutely horrible. I literally stopped caring about it months ago when I played against a like 1.5k lvl Millia and won 2 sets as Anji, but didn't complete the challenge itself because I lost 2 games. Out of 6. How is this even fair? Nowadays, after monthly resets, I grind a few W's on F10, the game ranks me up for the challenge and I just continue playing on F10. I don't think this makes me a fraud, I simply want to have fun against a somewhat competent opponent.

That fraud channel is really not good. Just makes tons of assumptions when the player is doing what the game allows him to do. In reality floors should not exist. Ranked should just be queue up and fight. Picking and choosing your rank matches is a bad design by Arcsys. Using an external ranking system to make the assumption, a video calling the player out and taunting the player feels like a horrible approach.

Kinda crazy to me how there's an entire channel just dedicated to exposing "fraud" players and analyzing everything they do wrong in their games, this seems lowkey toxic to me and completely unnecessary. Blaming players for "exploiting" an already flawed online ranked system is also crazy. If ArcSys cares so much about the competitive integrity of the game, they would have implemented a better ranked system by now. At the end of the day its a game, I don't understand why some people take stuff like this so seriously in the first place. People like this aren't ruining the game, a poorly implemented online ranked system is. Let people play the game how they want and leave them alone.

It also objectively ruins user experience, there's a reason people hate smurfs. These people aren't playing to improve. If they were, then they'd stick to Celestial and maybe challenge F10 occasionally if they felt defeated. @@blackmailed1072 GGST is a 3 year old game at this point. Again, if ArcSys was really serious about GGST having a proper online ranked system it would have been implemented by now. This Sol player is not breaking any rules by playing at his assigned floor. Not everybody wants to put the time or effort to get into celestial. What's toxic is a channel calling players frauds for playing at their assigned ingame floor and analyzing every aspect of what they do wrong in their games. This player is doing nothing wrong and isn't ruining anybody's experience. If I play against somebody more experienced than me in my floor I just accept the L and move on. Again, it's a game and people are allowed to play it how they want. I like GG but the fanbase can come across as arrogant sometimes in scenarios like these.

They choose to play F10 even after receiving the Celestial Challenge because they don't want players to dodge them for being a Celestial player. That is exploiting the system; ArcSys won't do anything about it, but we, the players, can say it's wrong to farm F10 players for ELO. And it doesn't matter if it doesn't affect you personally; it objectively affects the user experience for players who are on the lower skill end of F10. Floor 10 isn't actually "players who are close to Celestial," but usually consists of wildly different varieties of player skill due to the inflated numbers of the Tower system. There is a reason why smurfing is looked down upon, and this is basically smurfing for ELO because Rating Update won't do anything about it and ArcSys doesn't have an official ELO system. If it's arrogant to think that people shouldn't farm players on a lower floor than them for ELO on a website that isn't even associated with ArcSys, then I'm arrogant. I like fighting stronger opponents too, but this isn't just "fighting a stronger opponent," it is someone who actively seeks to fight lower level players. Hence why they one-and-done quite a bit of their matches. We can blame every party here. ArcSys for having an absolutely garbage ranked system since BETA, Rating Update for not barring these players from entering Top 100 ELOs for farming F10, and Mech95 for smurfing to achieve a high ELO. Why do we have to let ArcSys decide what is good and what isn't? Last time I checked, the fighting game community didn't like smurfs. Don't have to break rules to ruin people's experience. Also, I never disagreed with your opinion on Fraud Gameplay. I have mixed opinions on it, you can think whatever you want but smurfing for ELO is toxic. [Edit: Genuine question, what does age have to do with this issue. Because it's 3 years old and still a very active game, smurfing isn't an issue? Is that the takeaway? Because Strive isn't a stagnant game, it very much has increased in popularity over those 3 years.]

@@blackmailed1072 Now that you've explained it like this I can understand where you're coming from. Like I said I'm a fan of GG but I'm very much a casual player of FGs. I've only made it to floor 10 once but I don't really care about my rank. I know high level players place a bigger emphasis on that sort of thing so I can definitely see why players who intentionally pick matches they can win would be frowned upon. The main issue I have with the whole "fraud" thing is calling out players for not attempting celestial, yet making analysis videos breaking down every mistake they make and making it seem like they're bad at the game or something. If you're gonna call somebody out for playing badly then why would you expect them to attempt celestial in the first place. If the channel was simply a fight analysis breakdown channel it would be fine and actually very helpful, but the whole premise of calling people out and making it seem like they're ruining the game simply because they're playing the game seems toxic and unconstructive to me. I'm glad that LK gave the player the benefit of the doubt because that's also what I tend to do when I face against higher level opponents than me. It would be nice if the ranked system was overhauled to help prevent or discourage this sort of ingame behavior of farming XP from lower level players, but ultimately I'm not confident that will change.

@@blackmailed1072 also in response to your question about the game's age...I'm pretty sure many people in the GG community have been expressing their interest in a different ranked format for a long time, and it's remained the same 3 years later. The game is still thriving and has room to grow, but at this point you would think that ArcSys would have seen the overwhelming amount of feedback from the community about the ranked tower and at least make some changes or improvements. Even the whole issue of floors and skill levels aside, lobbies often suffer from desyncing issues, frequent disconnects, etc. Hopefully moving forward as the game nears completion we will see some constructive changes.

Yeah so it seems to be twofold. The issue they had with this player is that they rank high in the fan made leaderboard, but I see them playing long sets and stuff and dropping games at least. There's another player who looks like they specifically are trying to be high on there while playing on floor 10, which implies to me that they are aware of rating update, will leave sets or be 1-0 vs people constantly, etc, which I think is much worse. This dude just looks like he's vibing tbh

Worst ranked mode in the current lineup of fighting games period. SF6 is almost perfect, can't lose points below gold ranking making the first four ranks pointless and there should be a winstreak bonus for platinum and diamond to reward players and lessen the grind to masters. If people want to grind ranked then master is the perfect rank for that.
