Good to hear that the Rangers are being compensated by the public for their hard work 😂

Thanks for the video. Good to see what Dixon's Kingdom looks like now. I too have a Durston Pro as well as a Duplex. Tent platform designers had no regard for us non free standing tent owners. Looks like we need an engineering degree to set up. At least with the wood platforms we could cheat and use cup hooks. I think next time I venture to the Walls I'll pitch my tent on ground. Good luck with your store. It's very convenient for people living in Melbourne

I spoke to the ranger who designed them and he mentioned they were not designed for trekking pole tents. Bit sad but with a few nifty bits of rope tying anything is possible

@Ultralight Hiker That's not good. There's definitely an upward trend in ultralight trekking pole tents. Why would hikers opt for much heavier gear ? ( except for price ) It will force some off those platforms. And trekking pole tents do stand up in storms. My Duplex withstood 90kph winds at the Prom and I slept well.

@@magpiecollingwood9116 We've got the 3F UL Lanshan 2 in store for a great low price of $289. It's a brilliant trekking pole tent and the reviews of it in the wind are excellent. Most trekking pole tents like the Durston are getting amazing reviews for their performance even in Australian conditions.
