The impact chiru (fondly reffered as Annayya - meaning brother) had on me and my brothers was very huge. We grew up watching his movies not in theaters but in television... He was kinda demigod... Aces any role to the perfection. Did movies of different genre... Chantabbai, Swayankrushi, Rudraveena, Aapadbandhavudu, Vijetha, Subhalekha, Khaidi, Magamaharaju and many more... These movies are the movies which reflect his true talent. Never backed down from doing experimental movies. But some how in his 2nd innings he is caught up in the stardom and trying to play a safe bet... Trying to compete with the current generation and his son... I still believe that theres alot of acting potential left in him... It was not the commercial movies which made the youger actors look up to him but those different genre movies... Truly I miss that chiranjeevi and those movies...

He is truly a Legend and most of the veteran directors used to describe him as a mix of Kamal and Rajini. We see RC, AA, Tarak and other TFI heros still dance even if they have a ligament tear or a knee injury is only because of Chiranjeevi raising the bar of masala films in 80's and 90's. The reason I started watching Telugu films. K Balchander had said in one interview that Chiranjeevi is the combination of the best facets of Kamal Hassan and Rajnikanth. Chiru's biggest mistake was taking the 10 year sabbatical to venture into politics. When he came back, he began acting in movies similar to the ones that were being made when he left. The couple of movies that clicked after his comeback (Waltair Veerayya and KN 150) were more because of his presence than the merits of the movies.

My first movie was Gang leader, I was 2 years old, this was followed by Gharana Mogudu, Muta mestri and many more followed, I watched all his movies across his career. He was a complete actor, he was an amazing dancer, had great comic timing, amazing in drama and serious scenes, amazing in fantasy roles, name a character type and he has done it. Unfortunately after his comeback, he focused more on making his fans happy rather than selecting stories or scripts that he is satisfied with. As a loyal Chiranjeevi fan, my one request for him is stop making movies for fans, make it for himself. It will get the right audience to respond to his real acting potential.

Honestly, he had a swag (just like Rajni) even before it was known. Be it the chemistry he shared with his co-stars in the frame, dances or just the authority he brought alongside heroism is almost unparalleled. At one point in time, he was Rajni and Kamal packaged as one. Mass charisma with fluidic acting prowess. I feel he still wants to people to believe that he can pull off something like his younger brother (PK) or his son (RCT) but little does he realize that he's way past his prime and so are the audience. We want him to embrace his age with grace, just like NBK is slowly doing, playing older characters with as much punch. Wrote this before watching the video.

As child my first time watching Chiranjeevi was in Pratibandh , as non Telugu to watch his first scene on petrol pump was amazing. Pehle chita andar sey jalegi, phir bahar sey ! and then his dancing was something new and refreshing. Govinda fans also loved his dancing. My friend was crazy about his song it's a challenge from aaj ka goondaraj. I still love him for Pratibandh ! My formative years were filled with Chiranjeevi's blockbusters like Indra, Shankar Dada nd Tagore. All in mid 2000s. One is different from the other genre wise. No one was even close to him. I am 2005 born….i know nothing about chiru past filmography and my exposure to his films are khaidhi no 150,god father,walther veeryya and some of the early 2000 films like Shankar dada mbbs and stlalin….so when elder people(from 90s 80s) talk about his greatness,acting skills and dance….I can only think where has all that talent gone to ? i grew up watching chiranjeevi's movies in theatres. even the flops for him back then were good because either the album was good or his comic timing or acting somehow worked,sadly that's not the case today. for me his last favorite movie was SHANKAR DADA MBBS released back in 2004 (though its a remake). ever since,being a chiranjeevi fan i didn't watch and not even considered watching his movies in theatres. it breaks my heart seeing my favorite hero collaborating with such creators. i made up mind that i'll watch his movie in theatres whenever he'll collaborate with a capable director who could show him as powerful as his earlier days.

Chiranjeevi movie for me in childhood is a celebration, there used to be a vibe for going to chiru movies, the cinema theatre scenes pre cinema start and post cinema start is what made our lives blissful, tbh he was my first hero, when someone praises my outfit with chiranjeevi's it's a big compliment. I really appreciate @TriedRefusedProductions Jammy's viewpoints which are so apt and in-depth analysis of the artist's background work, legacy. Along with it, your understanding of the economics behind film making and possible steps taken by them to keep doing the firmulaic movies. It is sad to see my childhood favorite star to be limited to the same formula. Thugh he tried something different with Acharya, people were not accepting in his approach. I feel this is a curse that he has to bear till the time he decides to break the monotony and revamp his approach towards his movies. This stands true with other contemporary actors. The main problem with Acharya was it's story and execution. The young Chiranjeevi look using de-aged technology and the Ramcharan plot was unnecessary. It could be a good action if they didn't add that useless drama and emotional scenes...just be ruthless..

My first movie in a theatre was Choodalani undi....for about two years or so I thought Chiranjeevi was the only hero in the world and everybody goes to the movies just to see him....his impact on the masses was unparalleled....it really pains me to watch him do such bad movies now while he did such milestone movies in the 90s and the 2000s. My father is a hard core fan of chiranjeevi, he is always ready to have a heated argument with anyone(even with me and my mom) when it comes to Chiranjeevi. He cant take bad talk on his hero. But even he didnt watched this film, when i asked how's the film on the morning of its release, he said 'Ha, పర్లేదు, బానే ఉంది' and he walked off. Thats when I knew how bad the film is. We all agree that we are nowhere to judge how legendary and versatile actor Chiru is. He has done absolutely brilliant and risky scripts in the peak of his career, which no other commercial hero could do. He is our MEGASTAR and BOSS always. The first ever film I remember as kid is 'Indra', everytime I saw him on screen, I used to address him as 'Indrasena Reddy' .. Everyone in my locality still remembers me saying his iconic dialogue 'మెక్కే కదా అని పీకేస్తా, పీక కోస్తా' A film failing at BoxOffice is not sad, but a film like this, where everyone suspected a disaster since it is announced because of Meher Ramesh and its being a remake. And the audacity of the director not taking any effort to make it good all these 5 yrs and Chiranjeevi not judging it correctly or thinking that this kind of script would work is an absolute bizarre. Director Balachader once told that Chiranjeevi has both the sawg and massy appeal of Rajinikanth and Brilliance and versatility of Kamalhasan. They cant do what he can do, but he can do what they both can do. I really felt SO HAPPY when Vikram and Jailer worked at BoxOffice. Just because they are old, we cant say them to stop doing the Mass or Commercial films and do only Message oriented or Art films. Chiranjeevi and Rajinikanth have brilliant swag and mass following, they can still carry on doing the same but in a different manner. How Lokesh and Nelson cracked that Formula with Tamil heroes. Hope our BOSS will also get that kind of commercial and his kind of success

2000 to 2007 black tickets cost around 10000 used to sell some of his super hit movies . Even after 100 days successful run movies also make audience wait hours and hours at tickets counter. Highest blood donations used to happen in his birthday times . Students at the time dancing like him is a biggest honour... First day of his movie watching also biggest pride . There were people who committed sucied because first day couldn't watch his movie's. He lost everything because of dirty politics.

Oh...Jammy. I'm a 2K adult. As such similar to others I have watched only a few movies of his that too only in TV. Like many others I feel that Shakar Dada MBBS was the last good movie I ever watched of his in the theatre. Even as a 5 year kid that movie was very memorable. You see most of us Telugu people still watch movies in TV on weekends especially Sunday evenings. Jai Chiranjeeva had such a great repeat value in TV. Indra, Stalin still brings people to watch the movie without skipping ads in TV. The impact of his many others speak wasn't there on me, but I could still see the aura and the relatability of that man through the very few movies I saw. P.S: That Intro....Oooh Nailed it

I was born in 1987 and Chiru is the main reason why I'm interested in movies. He portrayed some of the iconic characters and incredible performances. It's disappointing that he is showing interest in poor remakes rather than movies which suit him. Trust me if in coming days if he delivers a hit like Vikram or Jailer, that movie will cross all the collections that these two movies collected. The truth is there are not much young directors available in Telugu Cinema, who are successful critically and box office wise. Those young directors mentioned are not action movie directors. Lokesh, Karthik Subbaraj or Nelson are action type film makers from the beginning. They have the record of showing mass in different manner, which is definitely lacking for Young directors in Telugu cinema. All other big film makers in Telugu cinema, who generally show mass in larger than life way (Rajamouli, Sukumar, Trivikram etc.)

In his prime Chiranjeevi was a bigger mass action hero than Rajini and amitabh bacchan. The only problem now is he is not working with the young filmmakers. He should start portraying roles according to his age and showcase his vintage acting skills . One more thing is just because he is a good dancer doesn't mean he should dance in every movie. Chiranjeevi was always a great actor and will remain, but unfortunately due to his fandom, he is doing nonsensical cinema, Telugu cinema is patriarchal in nature, that being the reason this iconic star fell prey to play roles where end up bashing 100 of goons single handedly. His initial cinema graph was worthy of praise PS - Saheb movie of Anil Kapoor was a remake of chiranjeevi original movie, and there are many more remakes of him in Bollywood
