To clear some confusion about the Frame Mounted safety which is the proper terminology it is called per beretta.
Per the manual, 80x pistols feature a thumb safety on the frame with hammer decocking device,
When the hammer is cocked engaging the thumb Safety causes the hammer to de-cock and rest on the hammer stop locks the slide in the closed position and disconnect the trigger.
This information can be found on page 24 of the owners manual

Is the manual accurate? It looks like he engaged the safety in the video without the hammer falling. The way it was explained by some reviewers at Shot Show was that up once engages the safety and a stiffer further press upward decocks the hammer.

@@gutblaster187 yeah I spent 2 hrs researching it sadly i won’t be at the shop this weekend to actually check it out and time I get back it will be shipped to its new owner. When Joe did the video he didn’t think it decocked just a saftey but apparently Scootch KZbin video shows it decocking if you move the safety more. So that’s why I copied and pasted what the manual says which came from beretta website on the 80X cheetah. Hopefully another one comes in soon and we shall make another video on it or if my schedule permits time for me to get to the shop this weekend I’ll make a quick video on it. -steve

@@usmc6429 so what sucks is the assumption made But it’s a free market and ya can shop anywhere ya want too. But typically if say 4 come in 3 get sold usually to local customers first, then it goes to website. 1 goes onto gunbroker. But if that’s something you don’t like lots of amazing gunshops out there. So you don’t have to support us whatsoever we don’t beg. We believe in freedom to shop. but all I ask is to get out there and support the 2nd amendment as that’s where the real fight is. I 3D printed a smooth rounded shroud for the bottom rail. It gives it snag free pocket draw and a classic cheetah aesthetic for a couple bucks of material and effort.

if you push the safety up pasted the safe position, it will decock by design

I was under the impression that if you tried to push the safety up even further beyond the safe position, it does act as a decocker. Are you sure it doesn't work that way?

This is little tricky to type lol, so I’ll let the beretta manual explain it then I’ll do a video of the safety and how it works on my 92X RDO as it’s the same way. I have a Hungarian 380 that I inherited. At first, I thought I did not need the gun, but I fell in love with it. I would now like to buy a second 380 handgun with the following features: A 4-inch barrel length or longer. At least a 12-shot magazine capacity. Can handle +P ammo. Adjustable rear sight. Fixed barrel or a flip-up barrel instead of a removeable barrel. Hammer fired instead of striker fired. Reasonable price. Thus far, I have been seriously considering the following: Beretta Cheetah 80X Beretta Cheetah 84FS Bursa Thunder 380 Plus Girsan MC14 T Ruger Security 380 S&W Shield EZ Tisas Fathih Walther PPK None have all the features I want, but some are very close. Right now, thanks to your video, the Beretta Cheetah 80X is high on my list.

Yup. Disappointed to see a few online retailers pull the scummy move of putting their limited inventory up on GunBroker to start bidding wars. I'll just wait a few extra days/weeks until drop shippers get their stock so I can get mine for around $700.

@@mmiski Yeah, if you don't care about the bling, the black one has already been spotted for $667, so I figure they'll come down to $620-650 eventually. Heck, I grabbed a new 92X for $409 when it was on sale, and then Beretta did a $100 rebate...the place ended their sale for $509 an hour after I got my gun. :)

Just bought the all black yesterday. OMG unbelievable, feels like a little high end firearm. Very well made good quality. As soon as u put it in my hand I knew she was mine. Small but fits real good in my hand. Definitely a keeper

Loving the color. Lol. I just looked up 4 other gun shops. Already sold out. I'd love to see Smith&Wesson make that 2.0 M&P In a ether full slide and grip burnt broze or like this beretta .380 is. Now I'm thinking about it. I should get into with Floyd's performance shop. Since they deal with Smith&Wesson. Maybe see if they can do that in house. I'd would love to have my 2.0 M&P metal in that burnt bronze and nitride black. 😎🤘💪🇺🇲💪.

Word of caution folks... was excited to get mine hot off the presses. Cleaned it and went to the range. Jammed solid on first shot. Submitted service request to Beretta and been 3 days now waiting on response. Tried to use chat and call and wound up on perpetual hold. Have an $800 paperweight right now until I can get a response. Also noticed on their site that service times are 30+ days Update: now on my 5th day of trying to get Beretta to answer the phone or email. Strengthening my warning here to seriously consider dont buy

Try contacting the dealer you picked it up at Call explain to them what happened. Then if they work directly with a beretta sales rep might be able have them get it fixed for you or might have you bring it in to check it out. Like to know more what happened though jammed solid can mean a lot of different things to us in the industry lol.

@@dukessportshop casing jammed in chamber after extracting back maybe 1/4 inch. Tried some WD40 and using a wooden dowel down barrel and pushing slide on end of bench. No go. Stuck tight. Case must have expanded or split in there I am guessing. Was good quality brass ammo of normal load spec. Nothing hot like BB or Underwood

They were limited runs and went out to world class beretta dealers in low quantities. So pretty much everyone put them on gunbroker. You have 22 hrs left to place a bid on the one you seen here in the video on our Gunbroker account. It’s setting at 1425 right now

@msm8098 , nah I got mine last night on Gun Broker. Final bid was $1,675, plus 3% credit card fee came out to $1,725. With tax and fees, delivery all came out to $1900. No need to go back in time. Just need to be willing to spend a little extra if you want it enough! There are still several listing active on GB. Good Luck securing yours!
