So someone brought to my attention that the adjustment is for height of the user. I’ve always just adjusted the wheel higher as the blade wears. Maybe I should read a manual some day 😂

It is both at the same time. The height of the wheel determines the angle according to the hight of the user and the desired depth.

@@Hahehhwgajshah72726.. if the initial adjustment is too low you bend down and if it is too high you rise your arms? NO. The adjustment is set according to the hight of the person and the desired depth. If I am a short man and its cutting half inch dip with the same settings but operated by a taller man it would cut deeper.

Atom edgers work well, I emailed Atom in October 2017 and asked if they are going to make a cordless version. This is a Very impressive first attempt.

No idea on the battery version but I got a second hand Honda petrol one for $200. By far the best edger I've used

Ahh good, thanks for doing this one Tim. I've been tossing up to get an edger, but I see all you professionals only ever using the brush cutter to do them, so that's why I haven't got an edger as I thought maybe they were a gimmick cause if they worked then you guys would use them. So thank you for addressing that in the video. I think I will go out and get one now. Although, I'm going to buy the new zero turn ego when it comes out in a few months time so I'd prefer to keep everything on one battery platform, so not sure if this is the edger I go with or if I look at a different one. But at least now I can do some research into them knowing that they will be suitable for my place. Cheers mate

Legit looking for an Atom edger today and your vid comes up. $869 for a domestic product that lists the other 2 skins for the battery as "coming soon", and one is a bent shaft trimmer :/, is a bit keen when you can score a used Honda powered Atom edger for $300-400. It does win on noise factor tho.

I had a petrol one for a lot of years had three or four Carburetors replacements in that time it had it now so I was looking at replacing it with this what your thoughts bit over the fuel one’s

When you’ve walked forwards, walk backwards with it running - saves all that forward and backward you keep doing and you won’t have missed bits. Try it, then comment 👍🏻

I'm in the market for an edger, having struggled with my line trimmer for long enough. But, I can't decide between the electric and 2 stroke versions. Is the electric as powerful as the 2 stroke?

Unfortunately most people with any sense of money would just by a Ryobi edger if going electric.I have both a 2stroke and 4 stroke atom edger and a Afom blower but you do pay for them.As much as I don’t like electric tools if I was forced to by a electric edger I’d by the ryobi simply based on price as I’m guessing many will and they have other ryobi tools like drills,Saws etc to take the batteries. $800-$900 is a lot of money for people these days with the way we are all getting hammered.
