The nerd armor isn't nerdy. Who ever made this armor set needs to do some BASIC research as to what a nerd is. This armor is more of a building armor. Knee pads for flooring installation and a tool belt for construction is not nerdy at all. And not even a nerd would be caught dead with a propeller hat on. The perks are really good though.

It's a misplaced game developers ... well I'd like to say satire, but I'm not sure that is what they intended, but it's like making a laughing stock out of "nerds".. a nerd wouldn't be so dumb.

I keep two sets of armor. The full nerd set, and the scavenger set. I collect magazines, and take them back to the base. I use the scavenger armor set while out looting, then come back to base and learn the magazines using the nerd armor for the extra magazine points. I think TFP's have forgotten that the ancient world had Roman legions, Spartan Phalanx, Medieval knights, Samurai warriors, and other armored units for thousands of years, long before modern manufacturing. If you can make metal ingots, you can make metal armor, as long as you can attach leather to it to tie it on.

I carry the nerd armor instead because that way, I only use 1 bag slot because I can read the magazines to free space on the go instead of filling my inventory with magazines to carry home.

@@Poo0fi Makes sense. It is only the body armor that has the perks. Oh well. Once this cluster fck is finished, I'll wait for the modders to fix it. Just like I did for Skyrim, and Fallout 4.

best apocalypse armor would be a lamellar armor, like roman armor, made from road signs, it's 6061T6 Aluminum. but what do I know.

Nerd armor definitely should be a light armor. How many needs are buff as hell. Would have been cool to see circuit boards and pens put together to make some armor.

I don't know, I disagree about the boots. In mid-to-late game, I think most players are getting around with some type of vehicle more than running. And if you have a more vertical-oriented holdout base like your wizard towers, it's helpful to not break your leg if you jump/fall from higher up. The only time I personally am running a lot is maybe in higher level POIs with lots of zombies and you need to quickly put some space between yourself and a larger horde. Or if you're trying to make some longer horizontal jumps, but you can always make bridges rather quickly with basic blocks. But thanks for the review, and I'm excited to see the other outfits. Ready to get my nerd on!!!

Hello! :) Thanks for your insights! I like to run faster, especially as heavy armour always slows you down already, and that speed boost really feels good to me :D Until a leg is broken I suppose ;) But there's skills to help mitigate that.

The gloves that give+60% damage to all undead beats the nerd gloves since in mid and endgame you'll be forced to use ranged weapons. The full intellect build is so fun though, sending zombies flying all over the place 😂

I would say yes, except they're light armour. And doesn't help against animals, so it's slightly more restrictive, but the fact they work even with ranged weapons should make up for it. I suspect they risk being restricted to melee only, as allowing ALL weapons to benefit from the + damage to undead ... in a zombie game where undead are the main enemy, is a bit overpowered. And it's the preacher gloves :D

My outfit choice - Commando: Helm (Stun Resist), Lumberjack: Boots (Stamina Regen), Enforcer: Chest (Critical Resist + 5% Damage Resist with Magnum Enforcer vol 2), Preacher: Gloves (Undead Damage).

I really dislike the design of this armour set, which sucks considering I love going science builds. I can only hope at least someone is going to mod this set to not look like a joke.

I run with the nerd outfit until I finished the books I wanted to finish. Not worth to me carrying 2 armors and switching just to get some crit heal time from the raider outfit. I agree with the head and boots, but for the gloves I went with nomad. It's 50% against radiateds and after you start encountering them enough it's more useful than melee/int. I think the melee/int bonuses would be best right at the start and in midgame maybe go with light gloves and use preacher for 60% on all zombies.

You make some good points. Personally I hate the book learn by looting, but this helps a bit at least. Rad gloves are good. Preacher gloves are great too. I think some of the sets do need some rebalancing though.

@@Vedui42 I don't like eating 100 billion books either but it is what it is, when overhauls are ready for 1.0 I'll move over to them anyway. I got 2k hours in this game, I don't mind vanilla being whatever xD. But I do like the new armor buffs. I'm not talking about balance, that can take multiple passes to get right. But the kind of buffs they give are awesome, this is a new kind of theorycrafting the game didn't have. I'd also love to not be tied to an item's appearance when I want its buff. Maybe this will come with the new "outfit system" that's coming later.

Watch it! It's the best AND dumbest armor around. A cap with nerdy glasses is HEAVY armor. Nonsense through and through. The bonuses are great. But it's dumb. I probably repeat that 20 times in the video ;)
