I love my Pursuit for saddle hunting. My climbing sticks go on the compression cinch straps, two on each side. Platform and/or bulky clothes go on the main carriage straps, pull up rope in one mesh pockets, multi-hook bow/gear hanger in the other, gps in one waist belt pocket, headlight in the other. The main pouch gets smaller clothes, water bladder, gloves, and what ever. Small pouch gets knickknacks, snacks, knifes, backup battery, face paint, extra carabiners, batteries. I even use this pack to tote my climbing stands around. All you have to do is lash the stand to the pack with the compression straps. I actually sewed in extra straps just above the mesh pockets to help with carrying climbing stands and sticks. Also, if you call Alps they will sell you extension straps to carry extra bulky clothes like bibs and a parka. You can't get a much better pack than it. I have had mine since they came out and it is in perfect condition. I have an ozone gen in my truck and treat my pack, saddle, boots, and climbing gear over night before each hunt. I have not been winded since I started doing this. I am a Scentlok homer. Everything I use for deer is Scentlok except for my pack. When they make one that will work for me I will switch. Scentlock should team up with Alps for their packs. Hell, they might already. They use the same quick disconnect clips.

Nice review. thank you! It def. looks better than other ScentLok tries in backpacking. This backpack probably ok for hunting in general, but not for saddle hunting for sure. Side access is nice (for right handed may be). NO attachment points on the back and "kind of" on the sides. If you walk with platform and sticks and this backpack... well it is doable but good luck with that. Material is Delicate mesh on mine is bad after 1 season.

As much as I like Scentlok, that pack has 2 dealbreakers for me, one like you mentioned is the lack of those side pouches on the waist, but the main dealbreaker is the lack of attachment method on the rear for my bow or gun; I use that feature on my Alps pack. I have used about 8 packs and the Alps is by far the best I have used, and will continue to use it. That said if Scentlock ever ads those missing features I will likely by it.

The ability to strap climbing sticks or a camera arm would be a cool addition.

They missed the mark. A saddle hunting pack at least needs compression straps for your sticks and platform. If they would have added them I woulda bought one

Definitely room for improvements. Hopefully there is a Gen 2 next year with some of those things.

Your video title talked about saddle hunting, but you never mentioned attaching sticks or a platform to the pack. Or what your climbing method was. So how good is it at hauling those items? Thanks.

The idea is that hanging from a saddle you can access the inside of the pack from the side which is different from the traditional pack. I normally carry my sticks in one hand and clip my platform in the hand at the top. You could use the mesh covering on the back to put your sticks in if they aren’t too heavy.

I sure would’ve appreciated seeing some climbing sticks on the platform rigged onto that thanks for the video it’s better than the one that scentlok provides. Too bad it doesn’t have some extra Molly spots and how much does the bag weigh?

Looking at getting a scent lok back pack. My concern is can I attach my skeletors to it in some way?

It has Molly loops on the side and the new model has straps that go all the way around it. So yes you can attach them to the back of the pack. I really wish they would put the straps on the bottom but they don’t ask me. 🤷🏼‍♂️🤔😂
