I brought a DRZ400E back in 2003 just after they came out. It has been one of the best purchases I have ever made. To say it is a fun machine is an understatement. Reliability has been amazing.

My first one was a lemon and fuel pissed out of it. Suzuki dealer swapped me for a new one and current DRZ is doing great. Good vid Josh

I bought my 1st motorcycle in 2021, the mighty DR650, Tanami edition with a full delkavic exhaust system, second hand with 507km on the clock. I’m stoked I went with the DR. I’ve built it for adventure, every nice day I’m out, Its been a blast. Apart from drumming, most fun ever.

Oath, fully satiated with my recent DRZ purchase, just returned from the garage after fitting the latest mod (temp gauge and 12v usb) - not much left on the list now, just riding and getting to know it... maybe some content in the making also... shaka

I rode one on a tour to cape york.. theres a reason why a lot of companies use them. I wasnt a fan until i rode it. Literally bomb proof and changed my perspective completely. (i own a WR450F as well!). They are a ripper bike.

I'm starti g getting into riding and am deciding between a 400e or a 450f, can you give a comparison, thankss
@DanielSmith-vp5vn Жыл бұрын
@@heavydiesel48 WR more power and lighter but 1000k service intervals and pretty much rubbish on the road. For a beginner I’d definitely go the drz. Plenty of power and lots of experienced riders own them also. They will go pretty much anywhere with bombproof reliability. The WR is good, just not as versatile.

@@DanielSmith-vp5vn wow thanks, helps alot, yea cuz in 16 and have been riding the farm bike (I work on a large dairy farm) and decided I'd love to give real riding a go

I have to agree. I came from a wr450f and have ridden drz400s heaps. The wr450f is a better bike for enduro riding. But the oil capacity is a LOT lower than the drz which means I was doing oil every 200kms and oil and filter ever 400km. Where my mates with drz wouldn't touch them for 1000km. If I was to look at getting another bike I'd probs go with the drz because I'm older now and don't need to have a faster bike, as I'd do slower trails and Fraser trips.

Love mine. I was lucky to pick up a low mileage used one in great condition. I started out on a TW200, which I still have, and I a lot of miles on a Honda Shadow 700. I am happier to have something with longer legs and more grunt for some highway sprints and tougher spots. My only hits vs the TW are seat height, to get my foot on the ground, and that rear disk locks up easy vs a drum and a fat tire.

The DRZ is actually pretty Good on pavement!!.....Good power from 55-90mph......I've had street motorcycles, that were gutless after 60mph, believe it or not! Lol While the Drz is no Touring bike....and I wouldn't wanna ride 70mph very long.....it's a great versatile machine for a mixture of Local highways, Back roads and you AREN'T sacrificing anything off-road like with larger bikes.

A few mods help. DRZ becomes an animal especially with a Yoshimura exhaust lets the bike breath and adds 9% more power.

I put an akropovic sticker on the exhaust. I think it added a few horses 🤣

I’m still 50/50 on getting one of these or the 650. I’d prefer the 650 for longer trips just to sit on the hwy a bit better, but the 400 would be better in the high country where I’d do the majority of my riding. Time to flip a coin lol

I got myself a gen 2 KLR thinking I could get my misus on the back. She can but I hate riding with a passenger. I've taken it places with my inexperience that has tought me heaps. But wish I got the drz now so I could concentrate on having fun not just getting there.

Had one for 10 years in Cambodia. 2007/2017. Cambodia Thailand Laos Vietnam. Weekend. Week. Month. Never failed. Best bike ever. Been thinking about getting a new one even though I won't ride it near as hard. Don't hesitate. Get one. BTW......wtf is traction control ? Really? 😂

Nice revue mate 😁👌 I had a DR650 and now own a old 07 DRZ400e and i must say i kinda like it more than the DR 🤔😮bit buzzy at 110ks with stock gearing 15-44 but have tried 16-44 and will be using that setup for the bigger rides 🤔👍and put the 15 tooth back on for everything else 😁😎 loving the videos mate 😉🍺
@_JoshJB_ Жыл бұрын
Thanks mate. Pretty sure stock gearing is 14-47. I run 15-44 and it is better for sitting on 100-110kmh. Does the 16 tooth fit ok on the front?
@jefftaswelder9154 Жыл бұрын
@@_JoshJB_ you have to do some modification to get it to fit 🤔but does fit (eventually ) 🤣🤣 i might make a video on how to do it 😉🍺

@_JoshJB_ Жыл бұрын
@@trinc52 I got 409km out of the safari tank fully loaded in the outback. That was using the reserve, there was still a little fuel in there on one side too. Doing 80-100kmh on easy dirty roads.

Hey Josh, what do you recommend for a comfy seat? Ive just bought one of these after watching you and Lance, seems like a must to upgrade the seat.. Any tips I'd appreciate. Cheers 👍

Yea the stock seat is rubbish for adventuring. I use a seat concepts seat. I don’t mind it. Or if you want to get even more cushion there is other full custom places you could go to.
