I got the pelican 1535 Air with TrekPak but I’m interested to see that you can use the trekpak system in Nanuk cases. I’ve also use the PD packing cubes for longer trips to ensure that nothing is damaged.

A year later and it’s still working great!

Hey man, great video! I noticed that the top part of your camera is sticking out a little bit, with that in mind, do you think is possible to put a laptop in the lid organizer? Thanks!
@DesignedbyKirk2 жыл бұрын
Good question! I still can and I don’t notice any imprints in the lid organiser when doing so. So yes I can, however most often I take off the nato rail on my Blackmagic

Its definitely possible, I'd keep the laptop in a protective case

I was wondering if a large PD cube would fit better, making it semi-modular... Great overview though, and finally somebody that tried putting a camera cube in the 935👍

I believe it wouldn’t, the large PD is the same width but just longer so it’d still be a bit squashed. Thanks for watching!

Hi, thanks for sharing such a great review. Do you think the case is strong enough to stand on? I have stood on pelican cases for extra height, no problems. Just wondering if the nanuk can handle my weight?
@DesignedbyKirk Жыл бұрын
Hey there, Thankyou! Yes I have stood on it before. It’s strong, but I just don’t recommend it any general. Especially if you have a laptop in the lid compartment!

can u add the link to the trekpak? i want to get this case but i’m trying to find the trekpak u have to get the correct sizing.
@DesignedbyKirk2 жыл бұрын
Hey there, great question. I did a DIY trekpak with corflute board and double sided adhesive. I’m going to make a video soon on how to do this. No TrekPaks will fit in here out of the box, as Pelican owns trekpak now and makes the product for the pelican cases only. Will make the video soon!

I have a 1535 Air, I just dont like the idea of having a lid organizer because I would be so disappointed if something got scratched

Still works great for me, but fair enough

I have this bag. Sadly, I'm not in love with it. Firstly, I'm 6'2" and the handle, even when fully extended is too short. Secondly, the case is very unsteady when hitting lumps and bumps and topples over literally all the time when being pulled. Thirdly it's regulation SIZE for most airline carry-on, however, the case is so heavy that it barely meets WEIGHT regulations for the majority of world airlines even when empty.
@DesignedbyKirk Жыл бұрын
That third point is so true. It’s a heavy piece of kit.

i hate divider and foam best option is to put Peak Design Travel Camera Cubes medium or large/ end game ! the cost a 1/3 less and much more protected and you are not limited in options on how to set it up

The PD cubes are ok, but I have to be honest, I did ditch them after getting this case

What is the weight of the 935?
@DesignedbyKirk Жыл бұрын
about 5kg, it's heavy, not ideal if you're trying to put camera gear in it and then trying to meet airline limits, the pelican air seems like a better solution here
@Tvj_films8452 Жыл бұрын
935 has no limits. It fits standard carry on size exactly. I bring it with me all the time on the plane.

Hey mate, thanks for this video. I've just started organising my gear and got myself an empty Nanuk 935 case and was looking at the best option for protection within. The DIY trekpak looks slick - am keen on the video. Did you source the materials locally (Australia)?
@DesignedbyKirk2 жыл бұрын
Hey Clarence, I sure did source them from Australia. A combination of Officeworks and Bunnings. Feel free to DM me on Instagram over at @designedbykirk would be happy to help. Will be coming up with a video on the process soon too
