hey Rory have you consider making the same award for the best-used car to buy of 2021? let us be honest the winner here is far beyond the usual everyday person financial capability I think a list of best-used choices when you combine value, features, saved depreciation, ext warranty, etc is far more realistic and relevant to the rest of us. just an idea, cheers!

i got my own little list of cars you should definitely look at (with cost and depreciation in mind)! 981 Cayman, 997.2 911S, C7 Corvette (and C6 ZR1), Z4 (last gen), Honda S2000, GLC63 AMG (hear me out on this, this SUV is actually desirable xD). I'd suspect the new Supra and Z4 will be on this list too after they get out of leases, On the high end i'm also looking at 458 and any 911 gt3 generation. I suspect i won't be able to save up for one anytime soon though. Maybe in another two three years. Most of these are picked based on my dedicated coupe sports car preference + depreciation curve being either steady, or mostly depreciated, or has potential upsides even (such as the 981, 997.2, and S2000, all 3 went up in price in my region over the lockdown, i keep a close eye on these, sad to see them go up a bit early than i had hoped haha) Alright the GLC63 doesnt' really fit, but it depreeciates a lot less than a G wagon with a lower initial investment. I just really bloody want this thing as a second SUV. All the fun of a c63 with less handling but handling that i'd never really use as i intend to use it as a road car and have another dedicated sports coupe. And i only are about going in a straight line and hear the v8 with that thing while still having space for my family. Not a replacement for a dedicated coupe by any means though.

If youre buying a german high-end car used, make sure its under warranty. Repairs can be expensive, don't be fooled by the used prices. Unless you know a garage that does them cheap. Even then the parts can be expensive.

While BMW are busy taking chances they should offer a proper non-metallic bright red like Hellrot as one of their four exterior color choices along with black, white, and silver (I know there are others now but it seems like this is all they have). Rory is the best though.

Well Tesla's break all the time, look very boring (subjective) and have cheap-feeling, poorly-built interiors. The Polestar's around the same price, is more practical, has the best UI of any car (Android-made), looks better (subjective of course), is safer and more reliable, and offers luxury car features all wrapped up in an electric car package. So that's why it's on the list.
