I like to use a mousse/foam over a soft hold/botanical gel like curly magic. Adds additional hold and body.

Maybe its just me...but it feels like shes not using a conditioner when applying the product. Her hair looks dry before even adding the product. Also, saturation makes a huge difference.

I tried th custard with uncle funkys curly magic and that fixed the flakes and my hair was more moisturized and still had a great hold. Hope that helps

@@sharonluquis5823 put in the uncle funkys like a leave in and then us the bee girl. You end up using less product and hair gets that moisture without loosing the hold

Ikr the hair should be saturated with water to hydrate and reduce frizz. Also when watching the creator's video of the doux, she's quite generous with the foam

They’re very similar in consistency, but this has a MUCH firmer hold and is not as moisturizing as Mielle’s coil custard.

How do you stop your hair shrinking up whilst drying? This is my biggest problem, my hair is about similar length to yours when wet but once I apply the mousse/foam and diffuse it just shrinks completely up which I hate 😭

I stretch my hair sometimes with a blow dryer, but I’ve recently started pineappling after I diffuse to stretch which helps too

Have you tried Mielle’s Pomegranate and Honey Curl forming custard? It doesn’t have a strong hold, but it’s never flaked on me before.
