Daamn! Thanks for letting us know about that plugin! That's amazing! :O I think plugins like that won't necessarily replace engineers but make their life easier, so they can focus more on "the fun stuff" :)

This is awesome. Guessing this works with Final Cut? They’ve got a voice isolation feature that does pretty good but I bet this works better. Sometimes nice to take some of the background noise out during vlogs.

It definitely should! I tried using this with my iPhone audio after making this video, it didn’t work too well but I would imagine if you’re recording with lav mics it works 100x better.

Hi, and thanks for the great and honnest video. I downloaded and tried this plugin recently. While it is really fantastic for voice recordings, especially for a free plugin, unfortunately it does nothing for instrumental recordings. It would be great if they made a plugin able to remove room tone or background noise on a poorly recorded instrumental track. This is often ruining many home made recordings and it would be much needed in the music world. Another use would be to reduce the reverb on a poorly mixed music track.

I completely agree, unfortunately at this time it’s just for voice. It wouldn’t surprise me at all with advancements in AI that we would see something like that, I’m willing to bet very shortly even. If it ever comes out or something like that, I will 100% feature it on the channel

After I was done filming I wondered what it would sound like on instruments as well. Wish I would have tested that! I’m going to guess since it’s algorithm seeks vocals, it may not work but test it and let me know!

this would help if i wanted to record vocals on a condenser mic in an untreated room right? bcuz i just have a good ish condenser mic and a sm57 which is a dynamic one that i have been using for everything cuz my room is untreated, but maybe with this plugin, the condenser mic might come in handy??

It should help with whatever mic you use that requires room treatment. I would try it on anything

I’ve tested using it before and after the plug-in, I gotta say using it after sounds better in my opinion. That way the expander is working with the already processed vocal and you aren’t getting all of that “room” sound along with it. Hope that makes sense

Is it the same effect than waves Clarity Vx DeReverb ?

I haven’t used the De-reverb, but looking at its capabilities they do appear to be the same plug-in type. I’d be curious how they compare.

It's a free Beta. I'd bet that the free Beta stops working once the release is out. Also the release certainly won't be free.
