Looks like an awesome machine! I totally agree on Pinsound. It’s literally a game changer. I have several of them and it’s hard to play a pin without it. Data East pins always had the worst sound and they became new games with pinsound.

Wow. As someone who was finally able to buy a mint, HUO TSPP w only 300 plays, this was a huge inspiration. You share my feelings and passion for taking your favorite pin to its zenith. My problem is only that I haven’t yet found MY dream pin to take to this level. But when I DO (god willing), I’m doing everything possible to match this one. The gold blades & balls really put it over. 👌 (I’m waitin for MY Cliffys to show up for my TSPP). Also, Mezel’s CS (Kristin) is THEE BEST! So glad you had great CS throughout. 👉Big Q: I made a huge mistake buying a speaker kit from another outfit. This “Pinsound” you speak of … can you tell me if it’d be worth buying and using on a Simpsons machine? The bad kit I bought … the “super woofer” killed ALL the sound in my machine and I had to literally disconnect it! Still trying to settle this! Thank you if you’re able to answer! 🙏

I believe the Simpsons Pinball Party is another Whitestar game like LOTR. In that case I would 100% recommend Pinsound.

Update on mods: replaced left flipper coil with a stronger coil. I put flipper fans on both flipper coils. I put a bracket underneath the palantir standup target to prevent it from moving from right to left after repeated hits. Removed diverter plastic from upper playfield (custom Arwen plastic protects artwork just fine). Added Ring light mod (video posted). The game plays flawlessly. Flippers maintain their strength for hours of continuous play without being overpowered. I couldn’t be happier!

I paid $8,500 which is a steal considering the number of plays. Most go for around $10k. I wouldn't pay more than $10.5k for one. Wait till the "pindemic" is over. The prices will drop again.

JP is a fun game but it can be brutal sometimes. It’s definitely not a “casual” game. It’ll test your skills and make you a better player, but it’s quite the workout. If I had to describe LOTR in one word it would be “balanced.” It’s fun and challenging but it won’t make you rage quit like JP.

@@pinrex47 The LOTR I went to see was a dog and waaaaay overpriced. I have found a HUO JP fully loaded that I pick up next week. It'll keep me going while I hunt down a reasonable LOTR for a project.

Amazing how cheaply made the modern Sterns are, when you compare it to this. Even Keiths new game Jaws (He is the biggest star in pinball, so you would think that they let him put in a little extra), is so filled with nothing in comparison. This is a beautiful pin packed to the brim. I hope to own this machine one day. Please Stern: Make a Vault Edition of LOTR......!

Your custom diverter makes you lose souls if you don't land in the shire.

What do you mean? My game came with the diverter also. So if as a example I get 250+250 souls and the diverter drops it in the the metal run not the shire, what happens? Any suggestions on how to protect the game and get full credits as designed originally by the maker of the pinball machine? Thsnk you for anyone's help on this!

If you don't fall in the Shire you don't get the extra souls. It's in the game code. And mystery award is disabled when POTD starts so that the Shire gives you souls instead of the mystery. Falling into the shire from POTD gives you 300 souls, plus 50 extra each time you visit the POTD after. It takes 3000 souls to start ROTK mode......

Nope. If I have to lift the playfield I first put on my art blade protectors. I have the ones from Nitro Pinball.
