The extra single wire can be plugged into channel 3 to control the gain from the controller. Just make sure the single wire is on the signal wire going into channel 3 on the receiver. This will give you the ability to control the gain on the fly with the remote.

So I bought the das micro too, it's similar, but not the same. Afrc on slow return makes your own steering inputs also slow return, das micro only slows the gyros steering. Also, the slow return is more subtle on the das micro. Afrc is slower. The other major difference is the controls. The potentiometer on afrc is 0-100 one way, das micro is 0-100 left or right which is a little tricky for tuning because movements have to be so small and make a big difference. Both are good, not sure which I like better as they are on two different cars (ae86 and rx7) Cheers again for the setup tips!

Good video! Personally I prefer my gyro to be set mid-chassis, or slightly forward. I also did the same gyro, but you can skip the adapters if you already have servo plugs and don't mind soldering.

Thank you for your video. It helped a lot! I have the LD1804 MX-5 LDRC with original components. But the gyro doesn't improve anything for me unfortunately. The wheels still wobble, no matter what the gain is (and gain on the remote for the original gyro is turned off), no matter where I put a gyro, no matter which tires (a little more sticky or original ones), no matter if I tape the gyro down or put something in between to dampen the vibrations. There only is no wobble if the gain is turned down completely. But then it's undriveable.

ive installed this on my rx7 and it drifts better but i still get massive wheel wobble no matter which way i have the gain set. i am turning off the stock gyro by holding b and c button but i still get wheel wobble. everything else is stock including the servo

dont turn the dial all the way in one direction. try 50%. if you max it out to the point where the dial stops that is 100% gain and you will for sure have wobble

So, center position is off, clock wise is slow return and anti-clock wise is fast return ? The V6 doesn't have this knob but I guess it works the same way on channel 3.

From what I understood, V5 disables the physical knob if channel 3 is connected making it work like V6. Can you confirm?

I haven’t tested that myself. But based on other gyros I’d assume that the knob would be disabled if channel 3 is connected

Idk whats wrong with mine. The car drives terrible with this gyro installed. The car after a few inches no matter how slow or fast just turns fill turn each directions on its own. Along with if you hold gyro in your hand while plugged in, the car wheels twitch like crazy. Can this be defective gyro?

Got this gyro installed, overall it performs very well but i noticed that the front wheels are still very twitchy, do you think that might be due to the stock servo?

Could be you have it turned up too high. If you turn up the gain a lot you could get some shakes. A new servo could also help a bit.

could explain one more time setting the % of gyro gain? Seeing directly the screen of the movie, two dots straight to the top is 100% fast and straight to the bottom is 100% slow return? I mean in witch direction the procentage of the slow and fast gain rise, if you know what I mean :) Just install exact as your tutorial and this is night and day difference, helpfull as hell! Thanks to you I'm into LDRC a lot :)

Just use a small screwdriver and they should come right off. The tires however may be glued on. I havent been able to remove the tires.

I removed the screws & I managed to get the rear off. However the front even when I used some force I felt like it was going to break before they came off. ​@@APEXRCGARAGE

I can't seem to really get in a long drift with counter steer. I'm driving on polished hardwood (glossy hardwood). Is it because of that? or shud i increase or decrease my gyro. (btw only mod ive done is the dasmikro gyro.)

When i plug my gyro in it blinks a couple times and then goes solid red. If i hold the epa button nothing happens, just solid red light. Any ideas what’s going on? I’m using dumborc receiver.

I think the external gyro is the only necessary part. A servo will improve the driving feel, but is not necessary.

​@@lukeonn examine the lights carefully from the inside. It may be that the servo for the lights have popped out of place causing the lights to not respond. Or the lights have got stuck causing it to not function properly. I've had both problems. Probably after a bump.
