I have the 2023 Foil RC 30. I swapped out wheels, tires,rotors, cassette and crank (my 105 version came with 50/34 and 11-34, which is so dumb for a super aero bike...no one is buying this bike to be a climber). The frame is AWESOME! I feel like Scott could have, for very little cost, upgraded to some halfway decent wheels, proper gearing for an aero bike, and narrower handlebars...

We are approaching black friday. ultegra di2 12 speed groupsets can be found for $1300 right now, or Sram force 12 speed for $1100, sram red 12speed mini groupset is like $1300. Most road bikes of this size still allow the use of two bottle cages, but it's best to use side-entry cages, so you have less options than larger frame sizes.

Scott? No, still boycotting them 1) Scott is indirectly promoting irresponsible riding behavior by sponsoring Safa Brian. While most of Safa’s rides only pose a risk to himself, about 10% of the time he has put others at risk. Scott should promote and sponsor a better role model. 2) Scott doesn’t reply to emails. 3) Who is their target customer for this bike? Only an uninformed newbie would pay $5k for a bike with these specs. If it were priced at ~$3k, it would have made more sense.
@GCPerformance18Ай бұрын
never thought of that for the safa brian stat i always looked at it as cool but for sure i can see people getting mad about it
@Questioneverything72Ай бұрын
@ @ he is a strong rider and a cool guy. But I have watched many of his videos including riding in Mexico and NY. He can take any risks for his own life or property but he has done sketchy stuff posing risk to others on the road. That is irresponsible. I am not mad but I believe We cyclists should call out irresponsible behavior and correct ourselves too. There is a reason many non cyclists hate cyclists on the road. Just read comments of people on videos of a cyclist getting into accident. I hope you remember that safety is number one priority just as similar to we criticize safety of hookless rims. Remember? 😉🙏

This having the same frame as all but the top model just tells me that it’s not this tier that’s good, it’s all the upper tiers that are buns. As much as I’ve wanted to try Scott bikes I’m not paying that much money for the entry level parts carbon tier with a bum warranty. Would rather go with an aeroad if I’m worried about budget and I don’t want lifetime warranty on the frame. This bike on sale for 3500 is a better fit.

Ha! Would be a lot more attractive if they just sold it without the wheels, keeping the same price tag… 😅 genuinely feel those wheels devalue the whole bike.

Yeah it is the best price for buying lots of creaking and seatpost slipping even at 12 nm for a 74 kg person (documents say max 10nm and I even replaced my seatpost with the single piece one with my own money and I am waiting for a replacement seatpost at least for a year and the Scott's response is the seatpost is not still in stock). Scott will never be my next bike after my experience with the 2023 model... Thanks Scott. One last thing! You will never be able to find parts if you buy Scott. There will be always no stock for handlebars, seatposts even mech hangers... Skip this bike and buy something simpler and accessible like Giant or anything. If you have more questions about this bike please let me know here.

I built my 2022 Trek Boone with full Red AXS hydraulic brakes, power meter, 2x, Enve CX wheels with Kappius components hubs, which were more expensive than King hubs at nearly a grand per hub.
