Have deployed around 150x routers. Using rms, works very well! Moved from Cisco to Teltonika and have zero regrets!

Nice to see you featuring a Teltonika device. They have plenty of routers, gateways and switches with gigabit interface. Just use the filter on their product page to find the available options. I myself am using a few of their 4G routers and a 5G gateway since a few years back. But I guess not all are compliant everywhere.

These sound nice. A demo of setting up ZeroTier would be great. I use ZT a lot.

I got a RUTX09 a few weeks ago. I use it at home with cellular backup on a fiber connection. I'm pleasantly surprised with both the hardware and interface.

@@CompuWhizzI have RUTX12 in home with fiber. Speed test was amazing, I dont remember exact numbers but it was 980mb something. I had tplink gigabit router that only was able to get me 700~

These are great for most set and forget style deployments. But when you 100s of devices, wonder how the management of them will be. Grandstream, Cambium and UI have got this sorted! E.g. “global wifi”… would be good to see Teltonika bring this into RMS.

I would love to see you put a telnyx sim card in there for cellular backup if the main WAN goes down. That's what I would want to use it for. :)

Thanks so much for the info , I do have the question. Can i program the routor to connect to my custom MQTT and if that certain data is recevied on subcribed topic , then triggers the command via TCP on LAN?

If you have working Synology ERX or ER4 installations would you recommend these as an upgrade?

how do you find their support ?
@strikesbac

It’s awful, community support only. Been using them for years. They have a good product but support is poor and firmware rushed.
@TSSC
@TSSC Жыл бұрын
@@strikesbacI don’t agree with their support being poor. I find their wiki product support pages to be quite good and have often gotten rapid response from their team on the support forum.

@@TSSC don’t get me wrong, community support is decent, it’s the official support that can be lacking. Firmwares are often buggy require extensive testing between upgrades. They are comparable to Ubnt, where support should be considered a best effort, they have no TAC like or options for service contracts. RMS is excellent and cheap, $15 per device per year. For context I’ve deployed several hundred of these units over the past 8 or so years all over Europe. As long as you know their limits you can’t beat them for value. As a total package though their support is what I’d consider to be their weakest link. Edit: Mikrotik is a better comparison than Ubnt,

@@TSSC For a SOHO setup they are great devices, and they can be great for business in the right use cases, as long as you know their limits. I still recommend them to people.

@@WillieHowe Well, what other answer would you give? You're being paid to promote them obviously. If they had the price of RUT300 on the gigabit unit they'd be on to something. Edgerouter X is only $60 and has five gigabit ports and UISP support. The Teltonika RUTX08 is over three times better? A company I'm sure most of us here have never heard of; From Lithuania? They're using WRT!

Seriously depends on what you're going to do with it. It's probably just fine for providing connectivity to industrial devices. For some purposes 40 Gbit/sec is not enough, for some 100Mbit/sec is overkill.
