Doesn’t Ironfoot procc dwarven grit wasting thus a good deal of dmg?

Yes it does, however the increase in damage overall from the R3 and R5 tree are still worth it imo. But this is one of the reasons why he’s a commander that needs to be heavily invested to be high tier, so more points can be put in ironfoot and benefit from Dwarven Grit

Dain is a monster when he’s invested. My Gimli got destroyed by a whaled out dain in HOME.
