I put a bit of my soul into looking for the optimal law enforcement flashlight a few weeks ago. I grew fond of Nitecore flashlights because of their functions and also accessories like the NTH10 holster. In the end I settled with the MH12S over the others because of the tactical and daily mode available on it with light memory in daily mode. The MH12S also have more different light output options (1800, 1050, 300, 50 & 1 lumen) compared to the P10i and P20i. Although I can see that some people don’t want all the functions of the MH12S and instead go with the P10i or P20i. In my opinion the MH12S have all the features I’m looking for in a flashlight, the only downside is that the mode button is on the side instead of the back like the P10i or P20i. If Nitecore decides to make a flashlight like the MH12S with the mode button on the tail like the P10i I would be set!

I have both the P20i and MH12S, based on this channel's recommendations. Hence, I don't see a need for the P10i. However, it's good to see that Nitecore is fine tuning their models for specific uses. BTW, I'd love to see a light where the user can have full operating control (on/off and modes) with both tail switch and side switch. 👍👍👍
@nikmag884 жыл бұрын
I’ve thought about that as well. It would be great to be able to have full operating control from both tail and side 👍. I just received my MH12S and think it’s great. I’m also thinking about getting the P10i as well (one can simply not have to many flashlights). What would you say the pros and cons are for your MH12S and P20i? (As P10i has pretty much the same setup as P20i). Would love to hear your opinion.

@@nikmag88 i think the perfect light for me is if the p10i/p20i had that third button that operated like the mh10s. imagine having turbo, strobe, and low light with 3 buttons. but it just seems that p10i is strictly a duty light and the mh12s is a light that could be a duty light but just a bridge between mh10s and p10i

Having the option for a 'Daily' mode like the P10iX would have made this a lot more versatile for EDC -- Your everyday friendly flashlight on most days, strobe-ready button if it needs to kick ass on short notice, and I can just put on a diffuser if I need a floodlight. The lack of a 'Daily' mode is the main reason I've reluctantly chosen the P10iX over the P10i even though it'll mean I have no options for applications that need a light with more throw (foggy weather, heavy rain, etc). Oh well, can't have everything I guess.

The most ideal EDC flashlight would be one like this: • 6 different color-modes (White, RGB, UV & IR) all of them having their own dedicated button for freely switching between each mode without having to go through all of the other ones! • Stepless brightness adjustment from 0 all the way up to 3000 lumen (controlled with a twisting or sliding motion) • Single handed focusable light • Shortcut to max brightness strobe effect (or red/blue warning light if you're in RGB-mode) • Lightly hold and release the on/off button to briefly flash the light, press and click to keep the light turned on. • Tactical crown for selfdedence or for easily cracking a car window during an emergency!

I love the fact that this light features the tail mode switch, my only problem with this light is that it needs another mode between 280 and 1800 lumens. Being targeted as a duty light, ideally 50, 325, 800, then 1800 would be perfect. If modes were a little more along these lines, functions all the same, this light would be a must have imo.

Disclaimer : this is going to be a long comment, but if you’re a civilian that’s considering to use the P10i for EDC, hear me out First of all, this product is almost perfect, the features, battery capacity, and price point check all of the boxes for me However as someone who have carried this everyday for 5 months as well as bringing this product to travel to several country as both a utility and self defense tool, i discovered some issues that made me stop carrying this as an EDC. Issues : 1. If you carry this using the pocket clip like how you usually carry a pocket knife, the protruded button is quite easily pressed by accident, resulting a burn in your pocket ( I’ve personally burned 3 pants) 2. As a solution for the first issue, i started unscrewing the top (around 180 degrees) so even though it is accidentally pressed, it won’t turn on.However, after some time, it created a multiple malfunction. Sometimes after i re-screw when i’m about to use it, it won’t turn on , and some other times it will turn on automatically without me pressing the button, and can’t be turned off. It’s quite a shame for this to happen to the P10i, as it has a great potential to be the perfect EDC flashlight Hopefully this comment could also reach someone that is part of the nitecore group to bring further improvements to the product. Thank you

Nice work dude, what about the klarus e3? Seems to have all the same features!
@NitecoreSG3 жыл бұрын
the e3 is a completely round light. If you drop it on the floor in the dark it will roll away from you and you can’t find it anymore. Strobe switch is also exposed on the edges, meaning you can accidentally flash yourself if your elbow hits it in your belt, etc. Lights might have the same features, but you have to look at the designs in real world context. Will it become a liability in the field?
@mdmilhomens28523 жыл бұрын
Agree with the shape! But have to strongly disagree with the button layout, as both switches have some sort of protection around them on the e3 so you don't smash them accidentally. It can also help to find both switches at dark imo. Another pros I would give for the e3 are the deepcarry clip and the outdoor mode, not that I would need that, but its a plus. Anyways, both seems to be great for my purpose (law enforcement), keep the good work! 👊

@@NitecoreSG it works well with anyone that had large fanbase that are active at the time the premiere start. Throw in a good and active mod in there and you'll have sustained hype and fans that are happy and satisfied with your live reply. It suggests that you care about them I love how this channel is actually informative and straight to the point. But the downside is that it usually build subs and a following relatively slow. If you wanna build hype, you need marketing skill. Technical skill alone won't get you anywhere. A good reference of this is one of your competitor. They are able to appeal to people other than military/guard/security background with customizable and different color options. They also almost always have discounts or bundles at every new product launch. This consequently has psycological on people because they see words like "discount", "special offer", "limited edition" on their products and impulse starts to take over rather than logical thought process I'm sorry for the long rambling

@@NitecoreSG I've been binge watching some of your videos and digging into Nitecore. I want to like Nitecore, but man, when I was digging deeper what I found was just headache. It's so confusing to me. When I look at Nitecore, it reminds of Samsung smatphone lineup: there's a lot of cluttered lineup. Difference is, it's easier to distinguish Samsung's lineup than Nitecore's. It's easier to obtain information about a smartphone because their lineup name is simpler and smartphone market has a lot of reviewer. Maybe you should make a chart that shows the main difference between each lineup (lumens, candela, beam type, UI, purpose, etc) because I think it's easier. As for all of your videos, I love them all. They're all actual informative, educational, eye-opening, and you share what the experts and you discussed to reach the decision. You even share what goes through your minds as you're making these different flashlights. I love that. I only wish it's easier to have a visual chart I can look at and really see the difference between all of these Sorry about this other long comment of mine

Seems as if anything painted black is labeled tactical.
