This video has everything one could want in a Foresty Forest saga: Utterly spectacular wilderness photography. Chopping firewood in the middle of nowhere. Cooking an exotic dish on a wood stove in a tiny, cramped kitchen inside a van. Crawling up a terrifying slope in the snow while filming himself -- and carrying a dog! Staying overnight in a frigid outpost. And, since this is the new Foresty Forest, backcountry skiing too!

I do have to say I've seen that view and cottage in a movie and I cannot think of the name but I know I've seen it with the views. I think he softens the extremes, not only for us, but for himself. A few humans recognize that our personal band with frequency goes up and down in strength, depending upon where we are on the emotional scale. When you’re in a state of fear when you put worry upfront, when you put all the negative words that might go along withthings that could occur you make them more likely. Even sweet little Louie recognized on an adventure up to a cabin herself, that the story she was telling herself in her head, made the entire experience much more scary than if she had told herself a softer story. I don’t know about the rest of you, but most of his videos have got me leaning into the hill so much that I have snow in my mouth.😂😂

Had a hot discussion with my son about civilization, it’s progress and decline. Came back to my room feeling defeated. I am an optimistic party in our little tribe, seems a losing one, hey. And there comes Simon, and Rocko, Ban Cha, Canadian mountains, ocean of clouds under an incredible cabin, Loui’s enthusiasm from her recent travels, and many other bright little things and kind words along, and my souring faith in humanity is climbing back up just as Simon on his final ascent… I feel so humble and am very grateful for this virtual opportunity to receive a chin up from a dear virtual friend, no matter we can never meet.

Hey Simon-ahem-Foresty, I’m one of “the balls on some people” guys from your Iconoclast vid. Been watching KZbin for 20 years (since it started) and you + Rocko have inspired and earned my first ever YT comment. Not kidding. Just wanted to say thanks for taking time to share all of your excellent adventures, that’s not an easy task. Love your style dude and that’s one awesome partner you’ve got there. Watch all of your videos and every time, I keep getting inspired to get another dog. Stoked to see you getting into backcountry skiing. I remember from your earlier videos of how you seemed pretty weary of snow + avalanches. Now it seems you’re on the path of year-round summit adventure in these beautiful mountains that we call home. It’s good to see that you’re aware and always thinking. That will help keep you alive. Of course, total paranoia does not serve well in the mountains, but a good dose of humbleness and vigilance does. You seem to posses these latter qualities so that’s really cool to see. I guess what I’m trying to say is, not trying to give advice, but just acknowledging that I appreciate you & your style which is good to see in this world of Instabang and hero-videos. People like you, IMO, are true heroes. True adventures that take time to share the stoke & knowledge with others so that they may be inspired to do the same. And who knows, I’d wager that someday down the road, you’ll end up booting up that south face too. It is The King of the Selkirk’s after all. I know how much you like summits. Bet you’ve been thinking about it at least a little eh? P.S. It’s not that steep. ~40 degrees. Requires optimum conditions of course and also you’ll want to get more comfortable on that type of terrain, but oh what a run, all 2,200 meters of it. I live in Revelstoke. Reach out if you’re ever cruising through town and want some local beta. I know of a few good adventures. I don’t check YT channel messages, but I’m easy to find. Cheers!

I live in a bachelor apartment and when I saw you do the ski down the mountain, and then back into the comfortable van... I felt that. Sure I may live in a permanent arrangement of a place, but yeah, just knowing I'll wake up in a single-bedroom place in Northeastern Ontario that has trouble staying warm... makes me feel better than if I were in any other situation. Your channel is extremely useful for people in my position. But also useful for those who want to camp out for fun! I can pay my bills, no problem... it comes downs to what my "fun" is, and can I have a weekend or two in a "real" bed? Wouldn't hurt me at all...
