What are your thoughts on the N9 which comes with 150mm of travel up front. Great review...Thank you.

@@KeywordManagement the new collosus N9 had a 170mm Fox 38 fork which is amazing. Love my N9. Check it out here if you’re interested. bikesonline-usa.sjv.io/4PAXk1

Would be a budget consience option to increase the fork it came with to 150. I went wolftooth too, oneup guide and bash, edc lite, ergon saddle, I9 Hydras, fox guard, fox lsc dial. Ride wrapped out the box.

Would love to buy it as frame and suspension only. The parts it comes with as a built bike ain't bad but I think it could be more practical, I'd definitely cut corners on the drivetrain and put AdventX groupset there, a Rockshox Pike select+ for the fork then splurge on a better wheelset, maybe a 170mm crank too. As for the dropper post and stem, meh.. it can be anything.

I do not remember the full upgrades you made on this bike, but when speaking about fork you mentioned Performance Elite vs Kashima. Are you telling us that you upgraded from Elite to Kashima? If that is the case - what a waste of money for the same damper and a tiny bit of weight saving if at all. All in all, the things you 'hate' about the bike were mostly esthetic (stem). Calling it hate is, imho, not correct term. If you'd buy any other brand bike with other parts - there would be still parts which would not suit your taste or length (crank). I do not know, maybe it's me, but almost all videos I see from other side of the pond talk so much about UPGRADES to the bikes. Reddit is also full of threads about it, people buy a new bike and are like: what should I upgrade on it. Nothing bro, just go out and shred it for 2000 - 3000km then see if something needs upgrading or changing to same new. Changing to less weight wheels is of course noticeable, but imho, only if 1-2k is burning your pockets - it's not an investment a regular MTB guy needs. Is it a nice to have? Definitely.

@@SergejGrabun I get what you’re saying. I already had the fork, stem, bars etc from my previous bike. I agree with what you said. I’ve talked about the upgrade addiction in previous videos and how ridiculous it is to spend so much. But I’m definitely that guy who buys a new bike and wants to upgrade parts to make it unique 🤷🏼♂️ LOL

@sergeigrabun you would hate mine then. It's getting nothing but upgraded till I'm satisfied then I take it out. Too me it's just as sweet as the ride. I just ride my other bikes while doing it and once it's done I'll buy and upgrade another bike.

@@JaredHoff I saw your Trail vs Enduro video. It sounded like you thought the bike to keep was the T9 because it descended about as fast as N9 but climbed like 3 mins faster. Would be an interesting video if you explained why you kept the N9 instead. I'm guessing your more of a bike park rider and wanted that extra travel for big jumps?

I'm sorry, but weight focus on a mtb is just ridiculous. Put on the bike what you like, but stop obsessing on the weight of parts. It just all creators new and old constantly blah, blah, blah about the weight of parts/bikes.
@JaredHoff2 ай бұрын
@@CJGrand1 it’s not just the weight that I’m talking about here. It’s the overall wheel weight which is that rolling rotational and unsprung weight. I think you have to really try a heavy tire and wheel and then ride that back to back with a light weight wheel set to understand how big of a difference it really makes.

@CJGrand1 Exactly this! People are TOO fixated on upgrades/changing parts, making bikes lighter.
