An interesting video. Lee on Solent is my local airfield and drive past it every morning so particularly fascinating to see this. Hope you enjoyed your stay down here. 👍

Just before you channel grows way bigger - Never and I say never change your intro to anything else. I get that feeling of relaxation when i hear it and some kind of calmness when I watch it, I know its time for a nice video in the evening. The best thing and some nostalgia to it, never change your intro Noel.

Atlanta ARTCC (US) air traffic controller here. I’m fascinated at the difference in the phraseology and aviation terms in your country! Very informative! I thoroughly enjoyed both watching and listening to this video. Great job! Oh and you greased that landing too lol!

Thanks Anthony! It's pretty different for sure!

I fly in Cyprus and we pretty much only have Class B international airports. I still remember once having to wait at the holding point on the ground for 45 mins thinking the exact same. We regularly have a hold of 5-10mins and on the odd occasion 30-45 mins waiting to land between commercial traffic.

I grew up in Lee On The Solent, gliders used to fly all the time there.

Great video Noel! Nice paint job 🤩 Just curious as to why you opted for a zone transit when skirting outside wouldn’t have added much time, when it would have also kept you a lot further away from Nottingham and Leicesters ATZs to which you were on the borders off at circuit/overhead altitude :)

Saw you fly over Fareham both when you arrived and when you departed. I did wave lol.

I grew up next what was then HMS Daedalus which also operated hovercraft. I guess the Navy moved out years ago?

West of Portsmouth, let's not mention Southampton...

I guess it’s the same place that I grew up next to, then HMS Daedalus, a Naval air and hovercraft base. In the 60s.

Curious,what do they mean by basic service?
@FlyWithNoelPhilips2 жыл бұрын
A basic service is just being available to help with anything you may need. For instance, advising us of active danger areas, active parachuting sites, things like that. A traffic service is the same but also they will advise you of other traffic (radar coverage depending of course).

Hovercraft?
@gordanmilne70342 жыл бұрын
I didn't hear mention of it but the Hovercraft museum is just by the coast south of the 05 numbers.
