The weight of your jig head depends on multiple factors; type of lure your fishing with it, depth, current, the technique you’re attempting, and the aggressiveness of the fish that day. Ultimately, I like to use the lightest that I can get away with while still being able to effectively get it to the fish I’m targeting. I rarely go lighter then 1/8th or heavier then 1/2oz.
