The biggest issue with AEW is that it tries too hard to beat WWE. Like, the WWE is over three decades old now and you can't expect to topple the foundation that it has all across the globe. Tony Khan needed to build up his company steadily without trying to compete but he instead went crazy and bought a bunch of big names on outrageous paychecks. This isn't sustainable or good for the company which can be seen by the way it crumbles whenever a big name leaves.

AEW always had a time limit on relevancy. Theres only so many "dream matches" you can have and only so many "indie superstars" you can sign before it all dries up. To be fair with AEW everyone is comparing the most rated show with there lowest rated show.. the average at there Peak was like 900k-800k. Now it’s around 600k… yes still a massive drop off in a couple of years dropping 200k-300k fans, they definitely need to fix there booking mistakes, there product a bit.. but I believe they are still the 2nd most watched company in the world and have a solid fan base, plus I think WWE is always better with competition, so I hope they figure it out and we can keep a weeks worth of enjoyable wrestling TV.

This is what happened when you focus on having dream matches or 5 star matches but not on compelling storylines. I completely lost interest in the TNT and the International Championship because they are all just open challenges with no stories. TNT was great under Christian Cage but the feud with Edge dragged out way too long. The TBS championship has the ugliest design ever which makes me lose interest. AEW just keeps doing things that makes them fail even worse but these things are not difficult to fix if they would only let go of their pride.

As a person who watches both brands weekly I agree and one of my least favorite things about AEW is the random thrown together matches that happen just because both men are good wrestlers. Like it’s cool to watch but at the same time I prefer my matches to be built and get me invested emotionally making me want to see them fight. But I will say AEW has been building more storylines lately they’re trying.
