If Minecraft is dying or not is probably one of the most asked questions in the Minecraft community right now. Therefore I'm giving you my opinion on the subject aswell as giving you some more information about the whole question.

If Mojang would do a designated Modloader for the game so people wouldn't have to choose forge, neoforge, fabric, quilt, the game could technically never content dry out

I’m gonna be blunt. The community is whiny and it annoys me. There’s a sense of entitlement that the vocal part of this community seems to have and it makes me sick. The truly “massive updates” I can think of recently were 1.14 and 1.16. They announced one more that was so big that they had to split it into 3 parts, and people complained every time. But if they had released it all at once I guarantee you people would complain just as much that it “wasn’t Minecraft anymore”, that they did too much. And now that they step back from the apparent standard of “massive gamebreaking update” people are unsatisfied that each update wasn’t as impactful as 1.16. They learned that when they share too much the community lets that get to their head, and now that they share less people seem to be disappointed that the updates seem smaller. Honestly I think that they should drop naming the updates altogether, as at this point it seems the community gets hung up over the name of the update dictating the direction of it all, and when it isn’t a huge update that drastically changes game progression they get mad at mojang for “over promising and under delivering”. Please, stop complaining, take your free update to a game you bought ten years ago, and go home.

Mojang went big with 1.16 and tried to go bigger with 1.17, but flew a little too high and now everyone will compare future updates with 1.16 and think everything they add is horrible.

Great Video, I absolutely agree with the simplicity aspect of minecraft. I don't know why the community wants so much updates when the base of the game is about its simplicity. And also on a side note the people need to stop creating the Minecraft isn't "FUN" Videos.

I really think that Minecraft it not dying. Because fewer things are being introduced into the game for every update fewer people need to be introduced into the new mechanics. My thoughts on the mob votes are probably different than most people. I think that if mob votes receive the amount of attention that this last one has, it's a really good idea. For example, we were only receiving wolf armor from the armadillo, but now we have several wolf variants and the wolves are next to impossible to kill. This "Tricky Trials" update is a w update. We need more updates like this

I think it is an over reaction considering this has been happening for a few years now. I do believe things will start to cool down with 1.20.5 and 1.21, since people seem to enjoy it a lot.

I personally think its cuz its hard to join other ppl, and like multiplayer is kinda important. Also... itcan get a bit repetitive after a while

not everyone is playing new verstions, there are a lot of 1.8.8 servers with thousends of players, dont forget about the moded mc comunity

for me, Minecraft is dead as a "light" game now. Minecraft even with mods used to be able to be played smoothly on any devices. but now, after 1.18 even a single mod would drop the frame rate hard, the game became way more taxing for the computer. the proof is the amounts of fps boosting mods and modpacks there are. and mods and modpacks are still being made today for past versions of minecraft. the game that used to be able to be played smoothly on 2 GB RAM is now difficult for 8GB
