I just happen to meet SEIJI KATO at a BP gas station a few months ago hear in Tennesse not to far from Bass Pro. He was with his Jackal bass boat on his way to a tournament. We talked for about 15 minutes, him and his wife were very friendly people. Thanks for the heads up Matt !

Has been available through Shimano North America for about 3 years and in Japan for 5-7ish years. From my experiences, it's a good bait and will get bit but never worked it's way into my top 3 buzzbaits. Nories has some buzzbaits that do a better job at the plopper type of sound and are able to be fished a little slower. Go-to trailers with the skirt: OSP action trailer, Megabass Rock Hog, and OSP DoLive Shad. My go-to's without a trailer: D-Style Truster, Z-Man goat toad (it's becoming my favorite toad in general), OSP DoLive Shad and DoLive Gill.

The Gargle has been out for a while in Japan. Still fairly new to the USA. The Firecracker has been around the longest. Thats another great buzzbait. The Jackall Firecracker is similar to the Megabass Jamaica Boa. If you like buzzbaits checkout the Jackall Dera Buzz. It’s a finesse buzzbait at a 1/4oz, but it’s got a strong hook.

Same experience I’ve had with it. Came out at iCast 2020 I think it was but had a hard time getting traction, I assume bc of the blade and/or hinged arm. The traction and attention it got seemed like it was fast, furious, then 2 other highly anticipated baits were finally released. So with Covid and the other 2 it didn’t get the 100’s of KZbin videos other new one get. However, that, to me is and has been a bonus here on Guntersville the last two fall/early winter months especially on grass lines and shallow to medium depth rocky points, and running past cover and eddies. Def have my fav trailers that have proven to be better in situations obv. But I’m using a paddle tail as well as boot tail, flukes, Yamamoto zako, S King blade minnow, Z Man razor shad, Hog farmer spunk shad, most recently powerbait power stinger. Played with the grubs but eh, the berkley boss grubs were decent. Gonna try the crash craws but not expecting to replace above mentioned ones. Places locally are putting them on clearance for $4.00 which is a good deal imo. My main, biggest, and only real complaint is the amount of grass it picks up. The hookup ratio has been good overall for me when the arm falls or collapses when bit. Still haven’t landed on fav line and lb to throw it on. Another good informative video as usual. Hope your skin cancer spot is healing well and glad you had that checked. Sadly no telling how many of us anglers on the water 4+ days a week have not done that and paid the price unnecessarily, esp before wearing sun shirts, pants, gaiters, gloves, sunglasses, hats, sunscreen, you name it! Good luck on ‘23 season

Matt you should have fished it a little longer before review.The worst buzubait ever wants to sink .fished it with no trailer ,swimbait ,and even a z man craw to keep it on top .to many better topwater s out there to use this💩did catch a couple fish on it .went out a day after and cought 5 on top in 2 hrs big black blade with z man frog you can work that bait so much slower with out sinking.I turned that thing into a spinner bait😆
@MattStefanFishing2 жыл бұрын
i like this buzzbait. its the sound that is awesome and unique. takes some effort to keep it up but im fine with that since it generates a lot of strikes for me. i dont want another normal buzzbait. i want something different that the fish havent seen and this does a good job of it IMO. but like i always say stick with what works for you and that you have confidence in. Plenty of baits i dont like that others love and vice versa.

Have you tried bending your conventional buzzbait blades to match that little trailing kick-out that’s on that bait to see how they sound? That’s an unusual bend it has. Maybe bend one side and see how it sounds before bending both. It may give a blurb-blurb sound instead of a constant buzz sound.
@MattStefanFishing2 жыл бұрын
worth a try
@AlexLeeNewYorkCity2 жыл бұрын
I bought one of these based on this video and thought I would report back. Unfortunately, I have to say I am not impressed. Not sure if this is really supposed to be a buzzbait, but it is very difficult to keep this buzzing at the surface of the water. The blade does not generate enough lift to stay on the surface consistently. Either it sinks because the retrieve is not fast enough, or it is too fast and just spins out of the water and lay on its side. And this is with a boot tail style trailer already, which should help lift it. Have not generated any strikes either. I may need to try this in spring or summer to see if it works better in those seasons, but I would have to resort to having it be a subsurface bait. Checking the comments on Tackle Warehouse, I realized that I am not alone on this, almost all the comments are about this sinking problem. Will just put it in my junk drawer for now.
@MattStefanFishing2 жыл бұрын
its definitely not an easy running bait to get to the surface but the sound it makes generates enough bites for me to continue to use it. Im sorry my advice didnt go well for you on this one.
@AlexLeeNewYorkCity2 жыл бұрын

I just got mine and caught a bass on the first cast. Unfortunately it was running subsurface and I can’t get it to buzz on the water out of the package. Maybe I need a trailer to make it more bouyant, but so far it’s not a buzz bait.

Great looking bait Matt, I’m going to order a few. I thought you were going to talk about the Teckel Chopkicker. I just preordered a few from Tackle Warehouse they are available the 29th of August. It has a blade on the back of the bait that floats and you reel steady like a buzzbait.

The future of buzzers is already passed. It's the Whooper Plopper styles. They do make them with metal tails now. Tacticool Bassin says the difference is float. If they don't stay up, they are not great. That's fact. Also, ploppers can be ripped to great success. I like the sound of peacocks tho. You know.
