Australia needs more "F Trucks" and America needs more tray/canopies. Seems like a good opportunity for some trade.
@markevans37103 жыл бұрын
It is well over due, it is about time Australians to start understand how good these trucks are. Power, payloads, lift, tow haul mode, exhaust brake, surprisingly better fuel economy than an modified 200, keep in ind, with double the power and torque. I recommend people go and explore these trucks. Chev / F truck

Sam I have a Ram currently but also have had my share of Fords which I still love. All the fords, not just the trucks have key pad entries and I love the key pads. And it is absolutely true what Derick says. Going for a surf, a hike or whatever and no more hiding keys, just toss under seat or similar. Brilliant. However one negative. I was broadsided when I had my expedition (essentially an F-150) by an old gal in a Honda which crushed both doors in. While it was at body shop I was able to rent the same vehicle and coincidentally it was the same color. Was taking the dogs for a hike and out of habit tossed the keys under the seat and gave the door shove and just it was about to shut realized "oh F" not my expedition. Was to late. Thank goodness for an portable bathroom at this specific trail (not the norm where I lived and hiked often). I was able to take a spring off one of the door hinges and fashion into a long enough rod to eventually break in. lol And yes I tried the factory code 1st before an owner resets it.

I have seen someone that did custom sliders with dom tube at just enough angle out to clear the amp research steps and wide enough that the front and back didn't touch b/c it goes kind of out and down. So they had tube/bar sliders coming out at an angle kind of like you would have a normal tube slider. I don't think they posted pics of how they had it welded up underneath. You can wire those steps up with an override switch so if you're on an incline caught up on something you can hop out without them trying to deploy into it.

I'm 52 live and have lived in Toronto Canada my whole life. Super Duty pickups are everywhere here in North America. I guess you Aussies don't have a lot of exposure to Ford/GM/Dodge super duty trucks. All are designed and built to tow and carry heavy loads all day in comfort with all the in-cab features. The F250/350 are the best. I'm not a Ford guy either. This is the best super duty touring truck conversion I've seen. Keeping the drivetrain basically stock. Good decision. You wouldn't want one as a daily driver. Just too much truck for no reason. Nice setup. I'm curious on doing this to a factory built Tremor F350, or to have bigger axles do it on a F550 with a single rear wheel conversion kit. The abilities of these big Super Duty rigs is the pulling and obviously rhe carrying abilities. I would however stick to steel wheels with either 17" or 18" wheels through someone like ProComp. But these rigs proved themselves with vehicles used by the Wescotts in their Turtle Expedition rigs, as well as the American built Earth Roamers.

I grew up in Canada and moved back to Australia a few years ago, and I try and tell people that they are missing out. The "luxury" you get in any of the American trucks is far better than what we offer here in Australia. I think for me the only thing I hate is the price. I owned a new F-150 in Canada and it cost less or the same as any stock standard ute you can buy here. but after importing to think they cost anywhere form $150,000 - $200,000 is a bit sickening. If manufacturers realised that there is a real market here I think they would see a lot of success.
