Great idea, but until the helmet was on, the soldier wasn’t speaking, so unless you realised he was dressed as a bush and outside, not hiding in one of the many rooms inside, it might have taken longer to find him.

@@seizure8388 Still, regardless of how long it takes to locate him, your time hasn't started yet, so you just find him, however long that takes, then put the helmet on, then throw the paint for a total time of like 5 seconds.

They don't test most of them much anymore, since they found most contestants will do the complete opposite of what they expect most of the time. Alex was talking about it on a podcast.

I think they only test to see if something is somewhat doable as intended if it seems undoable. But honestly, most tasks are designed to be a bit open ended. Like the "without moving the fishbowl" one, they seem to just use anything unconventional doodads that seem like could have some amazing effectiveness if put together cleverly. I honestly doubt if they tested that many tasks in the first place. The "paint a horse while riding a horse" seems like one that needed testing, but tasks in the early seasons were also relatively mild compared to later ones

This feels like somebody had been pitching task ideas all day only to have them rejected, so they completely lost their mind and went "well how about we have them play hide and seek but they have to walk backwards using GoPros on their heads and there's a soldier wearing a ghillie suit saying their name into a walkie-talkie every five seconds", and everybody just went with it because nobody was interested in poking the bear by that point.

I did consider how they could have just ran, as they were promised to be stopped by alex before hitting any obstacle. Thus any resulting injuries is the shows fault.

I'm kind of surprised Alan didn't fare better with the camera. I'm reminded of that bit in an episode of QI, where Stephen made him read with an echo device pointed at him, and he managed to read perfectly fine, whereas the other panelists couldn't get a single word out.

Why didn't anyone just simply not put on the rest of said 'helmet' and search for them? The timer only starts once its on and can't be tampered with after it's on as well. This allows a potential 0 second completion or sub 10 second if you find them, put on the helmet, then hit with paint.

First one sounds like him. He works on the show as a task consultant so makes sense he might have been involved with production. Especially as this was during the pandemic so probably keeping the size of the crew down. But when he said "Victoria" and "Morgana" it sounded more like Joe Wilkinson. Perhaps they both did it.

I'm not sure he is- it seems that Morgana gets it quite quickly, so probably went straight out of the first door she encountered (If you look at the overhead view at the beginning of the video, the start point is quite close to the soldier), while Guz goes the long way around (see 3:10) and comes out of the other door at the other side of the courtyard. That said, Alan went all around the houses as well and comes out the same door as Morgana, so I could be wrong.

Running backwards is hard enough as it is. Plus, eveything would appear the wrong way round for you. You have to turn your head left to look right, for example.

Nobody is capable of judging something at a first glance, by anything but how it looks. Looks will bring you to a book, only reading it will tell you if you like it. But you can completely pass on some great literature, just because it looks boring, or like shit. There's only so many hours in your life you can spend on reading. I never claimed I judged people based on how much I want to have sex with them. I was telling you how everyone judges people they're never going to meet, based on first look. People can find the hottest women in the world, and then find out she's a complete psychopath. But it's still the eyes that brought them over to find that out in the first place. Have we been watching the same show? Plenty of contestants before her including comedians have had idiotic tendencies. Idiotic or smart or even both. Victoria is smart but she has her moments which is the whole point of the show. To find humor in celebrities doing inane tasks.
