Bookish theories really goes in depth with all the symbolism,lyricism,and cinematography of videos/VCRs and songs. Bookish Theories really understand what the jungian theory about Map of the soul is all about. 10/10 recommend.
@lanielovespopculture4 жыл бұрын
I don't know if people have already told you guys this but BTS base their album concepts around books and psychological theory. So usually with each comeback there's a book to go along with it. I know some armys read it and do a book club. As for keeping up with all the hidden meanings and theories, do whatever works best for you! If you like to pay attention and come up with them yourself, go for it. If you like other people to find it first and then explain it to you (me), that's okay too. A lot of the theories blow up on Twitter so that's how I keep up. Last but not least, I love the talk at the end of this video. When it comes to embracing your Shadow, I think it's important to remember that it's not a once and done thing. Our Shadow can morph and change depending on what moment we are in our life and it's never something we fully live without. That being said, each time we embrace our Shadow, it gets easier to do it the next time.

Yoongi always said he wanted to make music but never wanted to become famous. He dont like people invading his personal space more than others. He's happy they're succeeding but with success, his life becomes even less private. And still, the higher he gets, the more he's afraid of falling, not being enough. So his wants are clashing, and in the end he accepts that he cant run away from this. He cant have one without the other. The fear of failing, his passion for music, his want to be more succesful, his need to be alone, they're all a part of him. And he accepts this now

I really respect BTS for taking us on this journey as they explore themselves as human beings and incorporate it into their artistry. To be able to let yourself be vulnerable in front of the whole world takes a lot of courage and, to me, speaks to their awareness of how important mental health and keeping grounded in reality is. When you think about it, how many celebrities have we lost because of the pressures associated with living in the limelight? Not only are BTS aware of the effects of their choices in life and where those choices have led them, but they are using their artistry to include us to make us more aware of how are actions and choices affect us individually. What they create is true art.

It is a shadow, a shadow of your persona. Jungian Theory says your psyche is 4 (-1) parts. Persona, Ego, (Self) and Shadow. So YOONGI in khaki pants is him(SELF), lyrics are his dreams/wants. SUGA in black clothes is YOONGI's Persona, success and wealth achieved by his artistry, shown to his fans. Now YOONGI and SUGA are dealing with the Shadow, he's not sure is it all worth it. Strangers imposing on his every steps, loss of privacy etc. But his EGO is saying that everything is okay, I wanted this.

Cameron Philips video talking about Shadow, Suga and Yoongi is one of the best if not THE BEST video because he talks about Yoongi, Suga, BTS who are behind that song and not just about the symbolism and imagery! The best for that is DKDKTV! Also I don't know why JoseOchoaTV and Cameron Philip aren't more popular among newer ARMYs but Jose is a senior ARMY who has made videos about K-Pop for over 6 years and BTS videos for almost 5 years! Just like Cameron Philip - his videos are incredible! They are really genuine and relatable guys. And very deep into the fandom. Their non-reaction/explain videos are always spot on or at least a collection of the current speculations even if it doesn't come true) JoseOchoaTV and Cameron Philip (he is inredibly deep in the fandom, which is for senior ARMYs like me absolutely hilarious but admittedly not for everyone but he is one of my favorite people in general) and WhatchaGot2Say are my favorite reaction channels Form of Therapy, The Champ of Medium also because for me (just my opinion) those channels are the most genuine and lovely people/reaction channels and actual creators. I'm not counting xCeleste as a "reaction channel" here, we all know how sweet she is and neither DKDKTV but their past/exclusive patrion reactions are really enjoyable and in combination with their explain videos they have such an intersting point of view because they are korean and they really REALLY keep it real. I know Danny gets a lot of shit but I genuinely appreciate when someone voices their actual opinion, it's really refreshing! (also I love D-K NEWS) Those 7 channels are amazing! Sorry for that kind of rant but it frustrates me that a lot of (especially newer ARMYs) get caught up with so many channels that have such shady and clout-chasing vibes (IN MY OPINION)

Thank you for the reaction of this and looking in to more information. The author of the book they are using, Dr. Stein, did a podcast the other day about this particular video and the Jungian philosophies referenced..... www.speakingofjung.com Also, a few notes,.... part of us "getting" the answering back to RM's questions is just watching these videos and listening to the songs so much it starts to click. LOL.... you'll get it if you start to stream their content. hahahahahaha. Soooo a few little details.... the lighter colored jacket he wears throughout has a motorcycle logo on it, and when he was a trainee he was a motorcycle delivery person, when he was killin' himself to get to debut (to the point that he had an accident and was hit by a car, injured himself, and hid the injury because he was afraid he would be kicked out of the company so he practiced injured - that is how badly he wanted it)....so that reinforces the idea that it was him in the past.... the glass shattering, Dr. Stein explained could be associated with the emotional/psychological/mental "breaking" that can occur when someone comes to recognize their darkest self in their own personal shadow(s) - how it can be a shattering experience.... and that only in taking a good look at ourselves and being honest with ourselves and this shadow of ourselves can we find ways to be the person we aim to be.... so acceptance and acknowledgement are key.... so the end of the video when Suga's shadow seems to make its presence known and then him looking at himself on stage could be that point of self awareness and acceptance so you then see him standing among all the people with the phones and just standing there and not running.... One thing I might disagree with Rosan about (xCeleste) is that Yoongi called the group of extras a "mob" during the "making of" video (a video that came out after she made her theory video so no shade to her or anyone who does agree with her).... the first of the crowds "might" have been meant to represent ARMY,.... but they and especially the later crowds could also be all of those people in the world who want a piece of them, who shine the spotlight on them in hopes that they fall, the media, those who try to make money off of them and their fame.... even the S-word used for stalker fans who really do cross a LOT of lines and (in my opinion) should be arrested and/or sent to counseling....but he has commented in a way that makes us think they don't like seeing our phones shining up on them and would rather see our faces... so it might be ARMY... dunno.... I LOVE this song and so proud that Suga was one of the producers, and the use of music and style to tell this story... even the musical tones in the beginning are "reversed" like it is taking us back in time to the beginning and when he crashes through the mirror to the stage the tones stop being reversed, like he is in the present.... such attention to detail in the sounds, visuals, everything.... Sorry for the ramble.... THANK YOU! Peace!!!!!
@serialsleeper6154 жыл бұрын
Yeah I agree with you. I also notice the reversed music in the first part which could mean that the one who's speaking first is his past self. I just noticed it when I watched a reaction video of a producer. This mv is lyrically, visually, and audio wise. They really tell a story using these three aspects and they kinda connect. The reversed part could also be a hint that they are going back in time. Remember the vcr in mama? The future meets past: the calling. The tune is sampled in O, R U L8, 2?

I don't agree when she said that the crowd were the fans, It doesn't make sense the song is very instrospective even if it's talking about fame too I think the people in black are always his shadow And I don't like the fact that she said that they truly feel like that because 1 she doesn't know that and 2 the theme of the song is called shadow he just made a song with that concept

You guys really have to listen to their earlier albums. Try reacting to all of their songs in chronological order. That way you'll fully understand the messages between the lines. There's so much content to absorb.
@curvytangerine4 жыл бұрын
reacting to every single song?? how is that in any way enjoyable for them? they genuinely love BTS as fans, they're not only having this experience for us. they should be allowed to experience things on their own. and there's little value to giving first listens in chronological order. I'd say it's more valuable to do that later, when you're more familiar with their content. people expect so much more from reactors than they do from themselves.

The way we know that he is answering RM's questions is because we watched all three explanations. They are all great, but watching all three rather than just one reaction really complete the whole picture. Please react to the others!!!

Sorry to say Celeste rushed a bit with this one and didn’t have a chance to flesh out her theories on this MV/song For that reason I think you guys should react to the explanation by Bookish Theories next as she goes DEEP deep and explains everything from a jug Ian psychology perspective while also connecting “shadow” to “persona” kzbin.info/www/bejne/Y4i8Zn6sYphklbM

Look at the tape on his shoulder - it says Y yd250. That's the model of the Yamaha motorcycle Yoongi was on when he crashed with a car back in their early days. He got a shoulder injury that still bothers him - fits with the theme of the song. He talks about it in his solo song First Love, too. I recommend you check that song out. Hey Blaze - who dat!

“We are designed to just BE” .. Honestly I needed to hear that. Sometimes we can get too caught up in certain things in our lives, that we forget to just be, to just live. Thanks for your guy’s reaction! I always enjoy watching you guys react to BTS! 💜

Based on what I read and search part of BTS' comeback is called ‘Come prima’ is “most often used as a direction in music, and has the meaning “in the same manner as the first time.” It comes from Italian, in which language it has the literal meaning of “as at first.”

All the BTS songs are stories without 'The End', they are always arches to the other songs.

Also you mentioned the doors. There are seven doors, and seven shadows in front of each representing each member. And as we see him for the last time in that hallway the doors all close except the seventh one. Possibly because it's his door. To his shadow or maybe another song. That's a thought I had. Anyway I love your reactions. Thank you.

Thanks guys. Glad you reacted to Celeste video. She is good with a lot of decoding and theories. You guys have a long way to go to go back to the beginning and check out the past. I did not even listen to O R U 8 2. I had to check it out the other day and was floored. So I am sure Army is going to help you get through with the past so that everything will make sense. I have been following them now for 3 years. I came in on the Love yourself era and Fake Love. I love and think Wings era is #1 the best. But we will see with this Map of the Soul era. Good luck! And please, NONE OF YOU QUIT YOUR DAY JOBS! 😂🤣😂🤣😂🤣

If you watch RM’s Vlives where he covers the whole album that they release it gives direct insight on how they made the song in terms of lyrics and message and you’ll even hear the demo version of the song.

Dont know if yall know about it, but there is this masterpiece of a program that they did back in 2014 that I think would be really fun for you to see! Its a GOLDMINE of fun. They had only just debuted a year before- Its a program that follows the guys going to America in 2014 for the very first time, specifically LA, and they explore and learn about the Hip-Hop culture. Coolio and others feature as mentors. We see them record an American music video, dance-battle an American dance group, they try to sell tickets for their free concert on the street via handouts....Stuff like that I think you guys would really enjoy it!! (Its called "American Hustle Life")
