Lesbian here to say that you pretty much hit the nail on the head in terms of the fetishisation of wlw relationships! It’s wild how many people don’t consider a girl kissing another girl while in a relationship to be cheating. People don’t see it as a threat because either consciously or subconsciously they don’t consider attraction between two women to be “real” attraction compared to a man and a woman 😑
@zaraamir9165

As another lesbian, I'd like to further elaborate on your point. The reason it's not considered a legitimate relationship/threat/feelings/love is because relationships can only be in service of men to be legitimate.

Another lesbian here and you said things perfectly. Men don’t see any of it as real, the sexual attraction, the romantic attraction, etc. I think they enjoy watching women be physical together but it’s only for their pleasure, they don’t consider the women to be into one another🙃. And as gay women, we just have to put up with the disgusting harassment that comes from being an out woman
@ha-ribo9319

As a bi person, I also wanna add that I feel like it also contributes to biphobia because this is what a lot of people think of when they think of bi women, even if she claims she's straight; someone who'll fool around and "experiment" with another woman but ultimately go back to a man. (Obv it's different if, as a bi person, you happen to end up in a straight relationship.)

Just gets me in a really bad mood when people brag about being able to live alone at 18 and stuff and implying that you are a failure if you don’t, I’m 21 from south Italy and here is very difficult to get a job that pays well enough to be able to live alone and stuff and there are a lot of young people here that are in my situation. I’ve sometimes worked 11 hours a day for less then 500 euros at month, people really have to understand that not everyone had their opportunities, I’ve had days were I didn’t work where all I wanted to do was lie in my bed and no I don’t care that I’m not productive, life is just exhausting sometimes.

@Keywee_
@Keywee_ Жыл бұрын
I don't think living on your own at 18 is a brag and while she has many things to be faulted for, I don't necessarily think she was trying to say that. For some people they're simply proud of themselves for being able to "make it" because they had NO other options. As you said you're from South Italy and things there, I'm sure, work differently then things here in the United States. I had to move out the same day I turned 18, rented a room from someone, ended up being stuck in a house with drug addicts for years, worked full time, went to school full time and it wasn't easy, it wasn't fun, and I never had extra money for anything. I barely got by on food and bills. But I simply had no options or any other family to live with. I also find people tend to label "I live alone" as in I moved out and I live in an apartment separate from my parents. Most people on any regular high school education job in the US will most likely have a partner, roommate/housemate, or some additional finical support. There is nothing wrong with living with your parents until you're in a finical situation that allows you to move out and be on your own and NO ONE is a failure for having different life circumstances. In fact as someone forced to experience the alternative I envy those with the support systems to grow into being an adult who can happily, healthy, and finically support themselves. However I could see how frustrating it would be to feel stuck when you're ready to move out. I just wanted to highlight that just because you're moved out and technically "on your own" at 18, it doesn't mean it came easily or that you were granted great opportunities. And I think it's okay for people to feel a sense of pride in the fact that somehow against all odds they are still surviving.

Its sad to me when someone says they moved at 18. It means they were desperate to escape their family situation. With rent in my area I cant imagine moving at 18, I only just moved for the first time at 24. I was just a baby at 18. I couldnt handle everything that comes with being on your own. Respect for your work ethic, I hope you get a job you love soon.

I am Bi and I find that there's a weird thing that can happen with Bisexual women where they can't see themselves in a relationship "with another woman" because they are attracted to conventionally attractive women, and think that somehow they will lose out on being treated as a princess/being validated for their looks. It's really bizarre. It is still fetishization but I find that is part of the issue - women engaging with their own internalized misoginy and bleeding into their sexuality.

I will never understand the stigma and hate that drug addicts get, but getting drunk n partying with alcohol is so much more acceptable. I am personally an addict and the things people say to addicts especially when one overdoses is sickening. I've read comments where you'll have people saying "let them die," "don't waste narcan on them bc they'll just go get high again," just the most inappropriate and horrible things. When it comes to alcohol though it seems like people celebrate how drunk their friends were or the stupid things they said or did when alcohol is just as addictive and dangerous as the hard drugs that are illegal. My biggest pet peeve is people thinking drug addicts are just horrible low life scumbags and while yes some addicts really do some straight up scumbag stuff, but the majority of us are regular people who made some really dumb choices and a lot addicts are some of the nicest, smartest kindest people you'd ever meet. It's sad what the drug epidemic has done to amazing people and so many wonderful people have lost their lives due to it. I pray everyone who has an addiction whether it's drugs or alcohol find their way to sobriety bc life really is worth living. ❤

(Lesbian here) first of all - no one ever says “I want to eat you.” Second - split attraction theory (I’m sexually attracted to both genders, romantically attracted to one - or vice versa) is strictly a concept that applies to the ACE/ARO community. Also I saw someone comment on Tara’s video that “this isn’t fetishization bc lesbian porn is a thing for a reason” and ppl literally thought that was a valid point. It isn’t. That is saying that women in general can’t be fetishized or objectified by men. Which is objectively not true. And that’s a scary thing to see being spread and validated. @@nightmareCatnip ; it's because "finna" is AAVE (African American English vernacular aka ebonics). it's a dialect of English that comes from black ppl, but there's a constant pattern of non-black ppl using AAVE and being seen as "trendy" or "cool" for it while black ppl speaking their own dialect are treated as "ghetto." "finna" is basically just a way of saying "gonna"/"going to." so she's saying "I'm gonna be in the pit." I'm not sure where the idea that it's grammatically incorrect came from though bc technically she used it right (unless she meant to say something else), it just sounds awkward from her bc of the fact that AAVE isn't a native dialect for her.

In regards to Tara and LGBTQ stuff, I'm a queer trans pansexual, who got a degree in socialogy and psychology. Okay creds over, also not making diagnosis; There's kinda a few things that could be going on with her here. Firstly, yea tons of internalized stuff, she seems to embrace toxic masculinity. Though, a lot of her responses sound incredibly defensive which could indicate she's struggling with something. What I would like to know though is if she's ever heard of complusory heterosexuality. It's a weird social cue that occurs for a lot of bisexual, pansexual, and sometimes even homosexual women. Contrapoints did a whole video on it that I'd recommend.

Jesus… the whole thing with fetishization of queer women and queer relationships/what is considered cheating or not…. She is implying 1. That relationships are only legitimate if they fit/benefit the cis, strait, “male gaze” 2. Relationships and/or acts between women automatically aren’t legitimate if there isn’t romantic attraction but only sexual attraction?? Idk it sounds like she is putting on a big queer sweater when it benefits her and taking it off whenever she doesn’t feel like having it. Must be nice. Also someone should take that bird away. Gross

It's an African Grey, which is one of THE most intelligent birds and animals in the animal kingdom. They can even tell what type of "matter" something is. E.g. you ask them what it is - wood or foam - and they touch it with their tongue and beak and they will verbally say and identify what "matter" it is. Like if it's wood, metal, foam and so on. That's how smart they are. So, you could imagine her cruelty to such an intelligent animal would have grave side effects. Animal cruelty or neglect is NEVER ok.

Hate her but the “sexually attracted to men and women and only romantically attracted to men” is a thing the term would be Bisexual heteroromantic. Most people dont use these terms because theyre sort of complicated but thats what she’s describing. But the other shit is just terrible i hate her and like i hate the whole thing with her saying “most guys are okay with me fucking girls”. Shes so annoying and she is a bit fetishy with her boyfriend 😭. If you do not have an open relationship then having sex or kissing a woman is still cheating.

Yeah I had to pause the video to find comments because I was like, wait, I describe my sexuality like this, is this a shitty thing? Am I wrong? But I see then that she completely fetishises it after this, saying that she still kisses and sleeps with women but doesn't describe her relationship as open, like as if the sexual activity doesn't count, which I would never do personally! If you're sleeping with other people you're attracted too, you're either cheating or are in a open relationship 🤷🏻‍♀️

That's an African grey parrot they're highly intelligent and prone to behavioral issues bc they require a lot of social interaction. I'm honestly surprised that this poor guy hasn't started to mutilate himself as birds pluck out their own feathers when stressed and this species in particular is easily stressed. I'm not sure how old this bird is but they live 40-60 years in captivity with some living to even 80 years old. It's extremely irresponsible to adopt this bird without doing any research. I cannot emphasize enough how intelligent these birds are, there was a case once where an African grey parrot was lost and literally told people his owners name and address so they could help him home!!! There is no way she is properly taking care of that bird it needs to be rehomed.

For some people romantic and sexual attraction are not linked, me for example would describe myself similarly, sexually attracted to both men and women but (unfortunately) only emotionally attracted to men, and it's always just easier to say straight instead of trying to explain and when people ask they normally mean relationship wise, however where we differ is I would consider kissing or sleeping with women as cheating because those are real people who I am attracted to, okay I may not end the relationship for that person if I don't have a emotional connection, but generally emotional connections aren't what motivates cheating 🤷🏻‍♀️ hope that makes sense and helps you understand a little!

as someone who has birds - that is such destructive behavior. birds are such complex, intelligent creatures who need space and mental enrichment DAILY. sexual arousal like that can and will lead to aggression, behavior issues, biting, etc. that can ultimately cause a bird to be rehomed for misunderstood reasons. you should respect your birds enough to NOT do this. also do you research!!! birds are not for everyone, they take a lot of sacrifice. their respiratory systems are very sensitive - you can’t use most nonstick cookware, use oven cleaning settings, burn candles, etc. do you research!

What a lot of people need to realise is that romantic attraction and sexual attraction are different things, you can be bisexual but hetero romantic (just using this scenario as an example), and you can have healthy sexual relationships as well as healthy romantic relationships. The way in which this so easily becomes fetishisation makes me feel invalidated, as I’m sure other people do to. (For example, I’m asexual, but also bi-romantic, and I’m in a happy relationship)
