You've spoken my mind brother. Daredevil is the greatest marvel television series ever.
@MrDman21Ай бұрын
The difference is Netflix Marvel can have a scene like that but mainstream Marvel can't because they're trying to be for everybody and Netflix Marvel is more for adults. MCU wouldn't do a scene like that because it wouldn't look gritty, it would be way too polished and choreographed.

3:48, The big distinction that should be drawn between instances where a hero has a chance to and may even want to kill their villain but sparing them when said villain poses no threat, especially no immediate threat, to anyone, and instances where the hero has no way to incapacitate the immediate threat their villain poses without defensively killing them. Arrow analyzes this at numerous points where Oliver does kill defensively in the heat of battle along with times where he is more of an executioner and assassin. It's made a point that Oliver tries not to be just an executioner, just an assassin, but is routinely compelled to return to what he once was. And though he fails, he still tries to be that ideal hero he wishes he could be despite his persistent shame and continued regressions. Nolan's Batman specifically notes this distinction with Bruce refusing to be an executioner and assassin, preferring instead to have his enemies be judged by their peers, but that not meaning he isn't willing to kill defensively when he has no other option, like with the League Of Shadows members, Ra's (since if he escaped, he'd just continue attacking and economically crippling Gotham), Harvey after he'd been shot and needed to rescue Gordon's son quickly, and finally Talia to reach the bomb she was using to destroy Gotham with. He is specifically separated from the various antagonists he has that want to change Gotham through destruction because despite his brutal and theatrically frightening nature, he feels compassion for people (especially after he living among indigents in Asia during his training arc) and that compassion grounds his aggression into a desire to protect at all costs (3:06, and if Bane had posed an immediate threat where he was unable to contain him, he would have killed him too). Snyder's Superman, on top of being inexperienced as a fighter and superhero, also was put in a situation where he needed to end his fight with Zod before both of them destroyed the whole city and indirectly ended more lives as a side effect of their battle, making it a defensive kill. There is less of an excuse for the warlord Clark rams through walls in the sequel since he's been established as having heat vision without concussive beams that he could have burned the gun with or and enough control over his speed to be able outpace and disarm the warlord before he fired, except Snyder wanted a cool shot and doesn't really value Clark as a merciful individual when having him violently punishing someone for threatening Lois is more "badass". Holland's Spiderman, in keeping with his immature and irresponsible nature, tries to focus all his shame and rage over his part in Aunt May's death (since his recklessness throughout his appearances and mucking around with Strange to have everything he wanted is what put Aunt May in Goblin and the other villain's path in the first place) into hunting Goblin, completely ignore that there was a flawed, but innocent man trapped inside him Peter'd be killing too. It isn't even a choice he made to spare Goblin, it's Maguire's Spiderman bailing him out and taking a knife in the back because he keeps on putting himself in worse situations due to the fact that he is the most irresponsible of the live-action Spidermen. His attempts at atonement by erasing his identity from the world also is framed both as a kind of punishment for his failures, but also a way for himself to avoid being hurt again by letting people in that could die because they *chose* to be associated with him, meaning he's really just hoarding all the problems and solutions to himself instead of respecting the agency of the people in his life who, again, *chose* to be associated with him. And finally, Matt's temptation to murder Fisk is set up less as a means to defend others, but as a means for himself to channel his resentment for all he's lost and his shame over his physical and moral weakness into a living target. It's not clinical decision to remove an ever-present, ever-relentless threat from the board, but born out of Matt's pride and anger, the flaws, or "sins", that have been at odds with his compassion and generous desire to protect others and defend the sanctity of the law by forcing it to still have tangible meaning in the criminals he defeats and exposes. In beating his wrath, beating his need for his brutal nature to have cosmic significance and simply focusing on protecting both people and the law from those that world pervert it, Matt defeats Fisk both physically and ideologically. But there is one more example I want to add, one where a characters flaws and failures are not overcome, with Invincible's impulsive killing of Angstrom Levi in anger of seeing his injured mother and the loss of patience after other various stressors have gradually unraveled Mark Grayson. Unlike Holland's Spiderman, Mark isn't bailed out of this decision and is left debating with himself while utterly distraught if he lost control of the powers he doesn't fully respect or if he had no other way to stop Angstrom but to kill him. Either way, it's a wake up call for Mark to be more responsible and to stop running from his fear of failure and shame over prior mistakes, to take his development more seriously by disciplining himself mentally just as much as he does physically, so that no similar accidents occur and when he does kill someone, if the new skill he seeks to learn to prevent having to isn't enough, it's when absolutely necessary.

This may be my favorite superhero show. I thought the way they depicted him being Catholic was done well. The various looks Daredevil had were great throughout the entirety of the series and the choreography was on point. Although, I would’ve liked to see Bullseye eventually dawn his outfit and get even more screen time. Your channel has become one of my favorites along with Mr. H.

Don't know if you've been watching Superman and Lois, but the fight with Lex Luther is the closest to the Daredevil scenario you proposed.. He effed with his family too much, and they went bold on this season.. and it's on the CW no less..but Daredevil is the GOAT 🐐

Superman didn't have to kill Zod. He could have diverted his laser vision in multiple ways. This is because Superman is literally stronger than Zod. He could have used speed and strength to just grab his hair like a bich and turn his head in any direction he wanted.

Im not saying make him 5'4 but don't make him super model height either. But hey Disney will completey replace him with x23 and you know it. Old logan will die heroically or more and more fade into the background.

It sucks that they alright made kingpin so lame. They should have built a trilogy with him and Spider-Man, and Daredevil could have played a major role in the story. Kingpin is supposed to be a threat for spider-man not just mentally but physically too. Heroes always gey surprises by how strong he is.
