In this Philippines Travel Vlog, we finally try a local Filipino breakfast classic, Silog! We travel to a local Barangay in the Makati, Manila region and have breakfast at the same spot many locals would every single day - as usual, being a foreigner in a local Filipino neighbourhood was safe, welcoming, and very fun.
I then share a special story with you about my past, and just how much my Philippines experience has meant to me as a Vlogger and a person.

Josie thank you for spending time in my home country. I am forever grateful to Australia. Aussies were the first to respond after the tragic aftermath of typhoon Haitian, $40m was immediately donated. Even after the earthquake in Christchurch NZ, Aussies were the first nation to help. Cheers! 🇦🇺 🇵🇭🇳🇿

guys, you have inspired me to take a new perspective to my upcoming trip to the Philippines in September. I am an avid photographer and your spirit and energy has my brain tripping over itself for some killer photography ideas while there ..so thanks for being honest, thanks for sharing your journeys and that to the both of you for just being you! Michael reminds me of me, the quieter slightly reserved type and he is reminding me to get outta that box at times lol cheers from Alberta 🇨🇦 Bry

Bryan what a cool comment!!! Thank you so much! I was actually an underwater photographer in Aus for around 6 years but I think I’m much better at film and video 🤔🤔😂 You will get some KILLER amazing shots in the Philippines, everyone will love that you’re taking photos too! Haha he’s even got more out of the box since being with me and the videos, he’s definitely out of his box too 😂😂 Thank you for watching from Canada Bryan! 🙏🏻😁😁

The "silogs" define the quintessential Filipino breakfast. "Silogs", a portmanteau of the words "sinangag (Filipino styled fried rice) and " itlog" (fried egg, typicall The variety of the Filipino "silog" breakfast includes TAPSILOG = tapa (Filipino styled fried or cured beef) TOCILOG = tocino (Filipino sweet cured ham LONGSILOG = Longganisa (Filipino styled Spanish sausage) BANGSILOG = Bangus (Filipino fried milk fish) plus many more silogs like danggit, hotdog, fried chicken The common or the uniting theme to all these Filipino breakfast would therefore be the fried rice and the fried egg. SI = sinangag (Filipino styled fried rice) LOG = Fried egg either styled in sunny side up, scrambled, over easy.

Hi Josie. Thanks for visiting the Philippines 🇵🇭 mate! Filipinos are really friendly, hospitable, nice and happy people. The food is also great, specially the sisig (in which where it was orginated in Angeles city where I was born). Hope you'll be back again. I'm permanently residing now with my family here in Queanbeyan NSW (near Canberra). When we watched your videos we kind a feel like homesick, the foods you ate, jollibee, places you visits and the friendly and generous Filipinos. Hope you'll be back for your season 2! Thank you and take care on your travels 🙏.

Maraming salamat (Thank you very much) for spending 6 weeks (including your birthday) here in the Philippines. You made me realize that amidst all the negativities of being a Filipino, we still have an awesome country. Filipinos are really known to be so friendly and hospitable specially to foreign tourists like you. Glad you enjoyed your stay here. I was also inspired by your positivity and jolly personality. I just stumbled upon one video and ended up watching everything and subscribing. Reading the last part of this video, I am amazed at how brave you are leaving your job to do what you love. More power to you and I hope you come back here, you still have a lot to experience. 😁

I'm a Filipino and this is probably the first time that I'm gonna make a comment on your channel. I subscribed to your channel a while ago and I enjoyed all your videos so much, specially your interaction with my countrymen. Since I work from home 80% of the time here in the US, I always look for a chance to watch your videos in the Philippines. I miss my home country so much and your videos was something that I always look forward to. You have brought me a lot of smiles (and teary eyed sometimes), and for a few minutes, I feel like I was there with you. Thank you so much to both of you. You're an awesome couple to watch and i enjoyed every minute of it. So I hope you're coming back. Goodluck to your future travels, and God bless. Believe it or not, I'm feeling nostalgic so i'm gonna watch much of your videos in the Philippines again LOL.

wow! i just finished binge watching your Philippines vlog compilation and it was EPIC! i loved how you enjoyed the country. And what i love most about you is your honesty...i have been watching different vloggers from different countries going to different places and what i dont like about them is many of them dont appreciate the support that was given to them by the country they were in to. Especially in the Philippines where they "click bait" the Filipinos and worst...when they finished, they dont even say a proper goodbye. You on the other hand was sweet enough to say your farewell and i have to say...from your eyes...i feel that you will be coming back there. You were honest and featured the happy moments as well as the not so good ones which should be as not all things are great...and it is the reality that needs to be embraced. Continue your authenticity and pleaeeeese...give a hug from me to Michael, yeh yeh! i have a huge crush on him...he is so hot and sweet! So guapo! hehe! 😉 *wink* Safe travels!

Luv your vlogs. You're always giddy and positive. You tell your viewers the way it is. You don't sugar coat anything. Keep it up!! You're not boring to watch unlike a lot of the up and coming vloggers!!!

I love this!!! Thank you! I think it’s important to be honest, even if some people take that as being negative, I don’t think it’s negative to be authentic, I think it’s honest. Thank you for noticing one of my biggest values! Glad you’re enjoying my videos, thank you for watching 🥰😁🙏🏻

Thank you so much to you and Michael for your Filipino vlogs. My young family and I have been watching every moment of them. I was born in the Philippines and have grown up and live in Australia now. But I want my kids and wife to experience the things you did. So we will be going to a lot of the places you have been to based on your recommendations. Keep up the great work! I hope you realise how much your Philippines trip means to so many other Filipino's around the world who cannot do these thing but they can live through you. And I'm glad you realise the spirit of the amazing people in the Philippines and it truly is one of the happiest places to go to.

Just finished watching your Philippines vlog series and I really enjoyed it! You are a ray of sunshine and your positive and jolly aura is so contagious that is why people love you! I really enjoyed your videos and I was smiling the whole time while watching (except for this one which made me a bit teary-eyed haha). Glad you enjoyed your stay here in the Philippines and I do hope you get to visit our country again soon for that 2nd season of exploring! Maraming salamat, Josie! ❤️ Oh btw, congrats for reaching 50k+ subscribers (yeap, that includes me)! Yey! More power to you and Michael! ❤️

I frequent Divisoria because I have clients there. I know how busy and chaotic it can be. But seeing how you enjoyed the warm welcome there amidst the hazards reveals you both are kind souls. Keep it up. I speak blessing in every country you will visit. May your spirit be overflowing with joy and may your physical bodies be protected from any harm. God bless Josie and Michael.

Josie is the next big thing as a foreigner vlogger in the PH. I dont know if she realizes this. But as a filipino watching this kind of vlogs from foreigner vloggers, this channel is one of the best. Making it happen vlog and Juicy Vlog are one of the most well known foreigner vloggers but now theyre making a mess 😂 . hehe not that bad but they really have just a lil bit of problem on their respe tive channels. Hoping that u would experience the Christmas here in the PH. It would be a different story to tell now and this would be new to you exploring Filipino culture. 😂
